We stayed here as a family just to get out of the house and to let the kids swim for a day. It is about a 45 minute drive from our home. While looking for a good hotel with a good rate I came across this hotel. I was very impressed with the front lobby and the check in process was easy. We had a pool side room which was also nice. We did have to make a few calls to the front desk for pool towels but the pool area was very busy this night. As the evening was coming to an end my husband and I decided to go to the restaraunt lounge and have a drink. We were greeted and served in a timely manner. A group of about 8 people came walking into the lounge being really loud and obnoxious. The bartender seemed to be flattered by their presance and started giving them all of her attention and seemed to forget that she had other customers. This group of people were yelling profnity and then started to get into arguements with eachother and other people in the lounge. As all this is happening im trying to flag down the bartenders attention so I could resort back to my room away from this drunk aggressive group of people. I got no attention at all. I started to walk up to the bar to get my bill and just as I did all of these people were ready to have a BRAWL! Finally the front desk called the bar phone to ask what was going on and one of these drunk people picked up the phone and was telling the front desk off! The bartender paid no attention to this behavior and kept filling their shot glasses. At this point a few guys were face to face yelling and threatening eachother. I could not believe that all this yelling and screaming had gone on for this long and no security or management had came to see what was going on. FINALLY someone from the front desk came into the lounge and started to ask what was going on. The aggressive group of people were givin their bills and told to leave. The group did so but also kept yelling very disturbing things to gentelman and management as they gathered their stuff and left. Then my husband and I walked up to the bartender, gave her a $20 and left! I could not believe that all of that rudeness could go on for that amount of time before any security was called to attention. Someone could have been seriously hurt.
Then, this hotel had emailed me a survey to take about my recent stay. I had told them all of this exact information and then the website asked me if I would like to have management contact me regarding the situation. I stated that yes I would and I gave them all my contact info and they said they would be contacting me within 3 days, its been over a week and I have not heard from anyone. So that is why im finally posting my negative review. The hotel is nice and I would like to stay here again but I should not have to worry about my safety while staying in any hotel. I feel the bartenders, management and all people on duty should be better trained on how to handle a situation like this promptly.
