I probably missed this little tidbit since I booked the room via the 800 choice number.
I booked a double , but seeing this place doesn't have any elevators and one person in my party requires a wheelchair. I called the hotel before booking the 800 number way...and asked if I could be assured of a ground floor double.

They said yes, didn't mention the rate diff....so I called 800 and booked it. I arrived at 6:10 and was informed at the counter that it would be $4 more dollars than what 800 quoted.. No biggy just an unpleasant surprise , I'm sure it's on the web site someplace.

It s no worse than the 1.50 safe fee choice loves sticking to their customers.

There was a business meeting taking up the breakfast refreshment area till 9 P.M....so no shot at getting coffee..from the bfast area.. I tried to make coffee in the room ...but as luck would have it the coffee maker was broken..

Not a lot of towels.. and the wifi doesn't reach to room 105 . had to go eithernet. Hallway especially near pool smells like an indian restaurant. Decent mexican joint Rancho grande in downtown.

Great place; the only thing we'd like to see is more breakfast options for people with various restrictions. They had the usual waffles and sugar-loaded cereal.

Hubby and I stayed at the Quality Inn because of the price. A motel in East Lansing was going to cost $120 and we got this one for $72....we didn't mind driving 20 minutes to save some money.
The check-in experience was a little longer than normal, they didn't have our reservation, even though I had called the day before and spoke directly to the motel.
This property is fairly new, so everything feels clean. The cable tv has many channels to choose from. Our king bed was comfortable, but they have changed from king-size pillows to small square ones, which was fine, just different.
The continental breakfast room was tucked into a room in the hallway, we walked right by it. Breakfast was fine, typical bagels and packaged items.

I liked this place. The room was very clean and quiet, and the lady on the desk was extremely helpful. (When I couldn't make a long distance call any other way, she loaned me her own cell and guesstimated the cost from her cell contract charge. Cost me very little, and fixed my communications problem at once.)

The high speed internet worked fine, and the breakfast in the morning was decent too, the coffee was quite good.
