We stayed at the Americinn in Saugatuck/Douglas one night and it was excruciating! The fire alarm beeped LOUDLY all night ... and went off at 5:00am!! The water pressure in the shower was so low I could wash the soap from my skin. Everything was generally dirty and cheap including the breakfast. If you stay here, you are not respecting yourself.

I normally stay at The Pines Motorlodge when visiting the Douglas/Saugatuck area, but I was unable to meet their three-night minimum due to my work schedule. The AmericInn offers clean, comfortable rooms, and a friendly, attentive staff. Tabbatha, a member of the housekeeping staff is an absolute sweetheart. We didn't take advantage of the continental breakfast, but other guests appeared to be enjoying it. This property also offers an indoor heated pool, spa, and sauna. I only have two complaints: the pool, and spa needed vacuuming, and an in-room refrigerator would be nice. Otherwise, a very nice property with a great staff

We had two rooms there this past week(august 21) The hotel is what you would expect from a new motel type place. It was very clean, had all the basics, hair dryer and supplies was quiet and served our purpose Sort of like driving a mini van. If you want quaint and charming this is not it. But for families who want convenience, cleanliness, a decent breakfast and only 5 minutes max from downtown Saugatuck. this fits perfectly.
Our room though had no closet which was kind of odd, so be prepared if you have hanging stuff

And the staff was very very nice, for whatever we wanted

I live in Saugatuck and had to get a last minute hotel room because our home guests were overflowing. The rooms are fairly basic but the beds are very comfortable and the room was clean and neat. Overall, the inn is well kept. The breakfast in the morning is a nice addition. Not over the top but good! With most rooms priced double of The Americinn, a great value for the money. As we were checking out, a huge Serta truck was arriving with brand new mattresses for all the rooms. Impressive!
