We had two rooms there this past week(august 21) The hotel is what you would expect from a new motel type place. It was very clean, had all the basics, hair dryer and supplies was quiet and served our purpose Sort of like driving a mini van. If you want quaint and charming this is not it. But for families who want convenience, cleanliness, a decent breakfast and only 5 minutes max from downtown Saugatuck. this fits perfectly.
Our room though had no closet which was kind of odd, so be prepared if you have hanging stuff

And the staff was very very nice, for whatever we wanted

I live in Saugatuck and had to get a last minute hotel room because our home guests were overflowing. The rooms are fairly basic but the beds are very comfortable and the room was clean and neat. Overall, the inn is well kept. The breakfast in the morning is a nice addition. Not over the top but good! With most rooms priced double of The Americinn, a great value for the money. As we were checking out, a huge Serta truck was arriving with brand new mattresses for all the rooms. Impressive!

We stayed here to explore the surrounding area, including Douglas beach, Saugatuck, the kal haven biking trail, and nearby berry picking. Convenient location, quiet. Big pool, breakfast was OK.

We stayed at the AmericInn as a last minute change of plans. We'd never been to the Saugatuk area. Most of the hotels in the area were full. I read the reviews on Trip Advisor and saw they were good for this hotel so we rolled the dice. Thank you Trip Advisor because this was a very nice hotel for the money. We have three kids, 14, 7 and 4. We reserved a room with two queens. The rooms were very clean. We had spent all day at the beach and checked in late afternoon. It was a short drive as the area isn't really that big. We all showered and additional towels were provided with no problems. They staff was very helpful. The kids loved the pool. It's larger than most pools and the hot tub and sauna were both an added bonus. Breakfast the next morning was the usual cereal, waffle, quick breakfast that most hotels of this caliber provide. I thought this hotel was a great surprise for the money. We were going to stay in Holland at a much more expensive hotel, but decided to stay here and I'm glad we did. I loved the town, the hotel, Oval Beach. We had a great vacation!
