“Large suite, great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The suite is really spacious and well designed, making guests feel at home. Beds are comfortable (we had a king room), and the bathrooms are huge! I would highly recommend for a stay if you are in the area. Prices are reasonable for the room, I imagine it may have been cheaper as it is a slower season. Didn't eat at the hotel restaurant, but were recommended to a few good places by the friendly hotel staff. Tons of parking nearby as it is extremely close to Greektown Casino (parking lot across the street).

“Large modern rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We stayed here during a visit to Detroit recently. I was very impressed with the size and appearance of our room. It included a good-sized sitting room with a television and a sofa. A small hallway led to a sunken bedroom with a king-sized bed, another television and a desk. The bathroom and closet were along the hallway.

The decor was very modern and well-done. Like most contemporary furniture, the sofa and chairs were stiff and uncomfortable. However we slept great and the bed linens were of good quality. I appreciate the extra pillows in the armoire. The room was clean overall.

The hotel was quiet with no rowdy guests or late-night parties. They provided a free hotel shuttle van to nearby destinations. We took advantage of it to get a ride to the Fox Theater. It may have been walking distance but it was very cold outside. The area around the hotel is relatively safe but this is still Greektown with frequent shootings and armed robberies so be careful. We were able to walk to the Greektown casino. The walk was inside almost all the way except a short cold dash across a small side street.

The biggest disappointment was the complimentary continental breakfast. I don't expect much from these type of affairs but this was ridiculous. Coffee, plastic-wrapped cold pastries, cereal boxes, yogurt containers and that was it. No fresh fruit, no bread or bagels, no fresh doughnuts, no hot or cold entrees, no waffle maker.... It would have been better to have nothing. Fortunately there is a wonderful, local bakery just around the corner- the Astoria. Don't even bother with the hotel breakfast. Just dash to the Astoria.

“great place at an awesome value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

the rooms (all are suites) are huge, with spacious bathrooms, comfortable beds, sitting area, the hotel has a nice restaurant, great location and amazingly friendly and attentive staff, and at 60% or less of the price of other similar options in Detriot

“Christmas in Detroit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

We stayed here Christmas night after a long drive and it was surprisingly quiet and seemingly under booked. We were able to walk right in because the valet was a breeze. I wasn't feeling well and I was appreciative of the easy and friendly service. Then...a wonderful Christmas present awaited me in our room...a huge deep soaking tub just calling my name. The room was a split level modernly decorated suite where the bedroom was essentially "sunken" (down three stairs) separating the living room and bedroom areas. The bathroom, again was huge and enclosed in glass block (a little 80's but still tastefully updated).

Great view of the streets and some lights from the casino...good location and access to Greektown.

Parking cost was $20, whether you valeted or parked your own car in any surrounding lot, so naturally we opted for the valet.

Overall, the hotel is more than sufficient and we would definitely return.I stayed here for business a few years ago and was equally impressed.

“Very unusual hotel!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Great customer service. Very clean rooms. The layout of the suites are not the most convenient with the bedroom being on a different level from the bathroom. Enjoyed the overall ambience of the hotel.
