Stayed here for business for a few nights in Nov '11. It is an older hotel that has been renovated a time or 2. It feels more like a big Courtyard. 2 or 3 story hotel, very spread out. It has an Irish Pub restaurant with a bar which was pretty popular. The location is depressing, right next to airport and highway, not many dining options around there. I would recommend staying in downtown Detroit or a suburb like Livonia/Novi over this location.

Stayed here for one night on Jan. 4th before flying to Puerto Rico the next morning. Room was nice, clean and quiet. We did the stay, park and fly package which was a very good deal considering that you normally pay 80.00 for a week of parking anyways. The hotel shuttle was very good and prompt. Overall we would definately stay here again.

Stayed here for two nights while doing busines in Southgate MI. The hiotel is near the airport in an isolated area with only a few other hotels nearby. It appeared to be reasonably safe. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The rooms was very clean, but very boxy standard - nothing to brag about w.r.t. amenities or size. The concierge lounge is small and offers little for the Marriott Elite traveler. However the concierge staff was so nice they made up for the lounge. I ate one evening at the bar area and was disappointed by the fare. If I did not know better, i would conclude the food came out of a box! The bar prices are also high. Breakfast was disappointing. To find better food I would recommend driving a mile or two up Merriman Road. A better choice for breakfast is the Bob Evans 1/4 mile away. On my next trip I will stay else where near the airport. Previous reviews have noted at least two other decent choices.

I just returned from a two night stay. I don't believe this hotel is up to Marriott standards, but it is adequate for a short stay. The rooms are clean but in need of a update. The room temperature is hard to regulate. I travel from this location quite often, so I try to switch around staying at the different airport hotels. I prefer the Courtyard which is beside this hotel (it's also cheaper). The food is fair at best. There are several nice places to eat that are close. The beds are comfortable. I didn't use the pool this trip, but I have enjoyed it in the past. My advice is to try the Hilton Gardens or Courtyards before you pick this location.
