“Just a place to sleep”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2010

I've stayed here a couple times during the Detroit Electronic Music Festival. It is a no frills hotel - dirty linens, trash in your room, a parking gate that keeps you up because people are going in and out. You are greeted by a cashier behind security glass, a bunch of vending machines and frozen TV dinner boxes taped to the wall. If you can stomach the location and the above it is a cheap place to sleep, but I wouldn't recommended it to anybody.

I stayed at the Corktown Inn 10-10-2010, and the experience was traumatizing.. I was eaten up by BEDBUGS! I have three photos and two witnesses. One in which is an employee of the establishment. To make matters even worse, when I spoke to the manager he told me there was nothing he culd do and gave me ten dollars and said it was to cover my breakfast.. Wow.. I am furious with this incident and plan to take this to the news to make sure no other family has to endure this suffering.. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THE CORKTOWN..

“Absolutely NEVER Stay here”

We spent two nights at the Corktown Inn for our anniversary. A few of the problems my husband and I had with this particular establishment include: tiny towels, spots on the walls, tv that cut in and out, blood on the curtains, room generally dirty, no maid/cleaning service throughout our stay, broken glass in parking lot, some lights didn't work, clock broken, lock on outside door not operational, old bar of soap with hair on it, multiple channels of hard core porn...neighborhood rough, bulletproof check-in...really, please...do not ever stay here.

“Clean bed and room at a great price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 April 2010

We stayed at the Corktown Inn for one night for the Detroit Tigers' Opening Day. The location was a fair 10 minute walk from the stadiums, but in the safe and trafficked neighborhood of Corktown. You won't be impressed by any amenities, extras, gilded architecture or fancy restaurants, but you will find a clean room and a comfy bed at a great price.

We didn't plan on staying in our room for more than a sleep, and for that it was perfect. If we did want food or beverages, sundries were available for purchase in the lobby. Our bed was comfortable, we didn't find anything wrong with the room itself other than it being old and not luxury accommodations - which we didn't need anyway! The halls do smell a bit stale/smoky, but we didn't have that problem in our room. We felt safe and secure here, were able to walk to the major tourist areas, and it was cheaper than a cab back to the suburbs.

I recommend this for anyone who simply needs a clean and safe place to sleep in downtown Detroit.

“DO NOT STAY HERE”

Charged my card for two extra nights, when we weren't there. An attempted break in of our room at 4am. Phones didn't work to call for help. Trapped inside while lunatic banged on the door for an hour.... Can't walk in this neighborhood after dark. If you enjoy risking your life{not kidding}, then this is the place for you !!!
