We booked this hotel as we needed a suite to sleep five for the car show, our daughter and her husband and our adult son and us.
We also booked this hotel to be walking distance to the car show and because of the parking.
We also told them we would be a very late arrival on Friday and needed two queens and a sofa sleeper.
When we arrived the valet took our car but there was no bell hop available nor a cart. No big deal, we grabbed our stuff and went on in.
Checkin went fine and off we went ot our room only find one king and the sofa sleeper, when we called down to the desk we were told the hotel was completely sold out for the night and they could move us the next day! They did not seem to care much about our concerns.
But how were five adults going to sleep in one king and a sofa sleeper?
They said we can send up a roll away! OK, we were tired and just wanted to sleep so we said ok.
We were checking out the room to find there was only one sheet and one pillow for the sofa sleeper and only two towels in a room designed for 4 or more!
A few minutes later the security guard, "G" arrived with the roll away apologizing for the problem and told us house keeping was gone for the night. When I mentioned the towels, sheets and pillows he said "hang on I will go find some for you!"
A few minutes later he arrived with many towels, extra sheets, pillows and some blankets and again apologizing! Very nice young man! Made us feel better about picking this hotel!
After a rather rough night sleeping, my son in law is 6'5" and didn't fit on the sofa sleeper very well and our son on the rollaway which is about 5 feet long and he is about 6 feet tall and the room temperature was very hot! We could never seem to cool down the room!
My husband went down to the front desk and complained and they moved us to a different suite, the one we wanted in the first place! They also gave him 50% off the cost of the first night seeing as we did not get the room we wanted, very nice!
So we moved our stuff, remembering to grab the extra towels, sheets and pillows because this room had only two towels also!
This suite had the sink outside the tub and toilet area which was very nice, bigger area with the sofa and TV and better heat control.
We headed down to breakfast in the lobby, a little confusing, no one to seat us, the omlette station was right next to the hostess center so we asked the omlette chef if we seat ourselves and he said yes, so as we go to sit the waitress comes over to ask us if we needed help. We asked if we could sit there and yes we could.
She then asked for our coupons, which we did not have. I guess with certain levels of Hilton membership you get free meals, we did not.
They had two choices of buffett, fruit and oatmeal or full buffett with made to order omlettes.
It took a while to get our coffee and juices but she was working hard and friendly.
The buffett was good and the omlettes very good but a busy place. The kitchen noticed the backup and came and took some orders to the kitchen to prepare, very impressive.
Our second night was much more comfortable for all
Checkout was quick and very prompt with the car.
The coffee shop in the lobby was very affordable but was surprised to find it closed at 5 pm Saturday evening when the hotel was booked solid!
Rooms were very clean, friendly staff, did find that the ice maker on our floor was broken and all the vending machines seemed to be sold out of water.
The rooms were very quiet, never heard the neighbors!
It would have been nice to have a list of places near us to eat or delivery food.
All in all it was a good stay, yes it was a very busy weekend and they could have been better prepared for the number of guests staying there.
If in town agin we will stay here again!
