Stayed here overnight. Nice place, love the decor! Quiet at the end of the hallway. Breakfast buffet was delicious, however if you have a voucher for breakfast, make sure you read the fine print. I didn't read the voucher and was then charged for breakfast because I ate hot food and not the complimentary cold food. My servers did not tell me this until after I had finished eating!

Whenever I am in Detroit I love to stay downtown. I am in Detroit about 3 times a year and I always like to stay at the Doubletree Fort Shelby. It is a nice, comfortable hotel. I like the fact that it is an old hotel that has been completely redone by Doubletree. I always ask for one of the corner 1 bedroom suites. These suites have plenty of room an are very reasonable price wise. It is just a block away from the People Mover which can take you close to all the great spots downtown. Very good service, restaurant, coffee place in the morning and of course room service. I will be back.

We have a guys road trip every year, and it always starts in Detroit for a Red Wings game before we head to another US city for more sports events. For the past 3-4 years we have been coming to the Doubletree Fort Shelby and every year they do not let us down.

Can't beat the location - close to Joe Louis Arena and Cobo Hall, close to downtown attractions, close to tram station to get to the Greektown Casino, and we discovered this year they even have a complimentary shuttle service!

Alwyas friendly, always helpful staff. Some of the best, friendliest service I've ever seen at a hotel. Safe not working... we'll be right up. Need extra towels, we'll be right up. Something not right in the room, we'll be right up!

This was the 2nd time I've stayed here and will be coming back when I'm back in Detroit. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is always very helpful. Would recommend it if have to stay 'downtown'. The complimentary breakfast only includes a 'continental' @ the hotel restaurant, the only down side I can think of...
