“Good value for someone that is happy with just the basic comforts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011

Everything was fine with this hotel other than a noise in the heating unit which was bothersome. This and other hotels should have a thermostat with a temperature rating so you can set your preferred temperature (rather than just a blue/red indicator) and have some blankets to save energy.

Nice that this place is near the Ford Mansion and the park like grounds.

“Can't Understand Why Others Give This Hotel a Bad Review”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2010

I would definitely recommend this hotel, except to people who want something posh.
I just like a clean and safe place to stay and that's what I got. I was in town to attend a wedding. The room's only flaw was that the threshold to the bathroom needs a small repair. It has a small lobby. The bed spreads were not the prettiest, but the room itself was spotless and there were no water stains etc. on the walls. The walls were all painted beige. The room also had a tiny kitchenette that was also very clean. The hotel is somewhat difficult to find because it is on a circle and you have to get used to finding the right entry way. There is a huge mall a short distance away. It does not have a restaurant, but there are many nearby.

“Only if you are looking for cheapest options....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 April 2010

I went to Dearborn for long term and was looking for cheapest long term hotel. Extended stay is the best choice looking at price. Location is quite good considering fairlane mall is nearby. Over weekends it helped us a lot. We used to visit mall and theatre nearby frequently.
Apart from location and cost, nothing was great. Housekeeping is once a week. You need to take care of your room by self. Staff was there but not so decent which was expected. Rooms were very small, try to accomodate lot many things. Kitchen contains almosts all essential items. Internet connection was there with marginal cost however, local calls are free of cost.
This was average kind of hotel can be recommended as low cost alternative and location as an advantage. Almost all Ford offices are nearby. Fairlane mall and start theatre are at walking distance.

“Clean and affordable. Comfortable stay. Excellent location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2009

This Extended Stay America was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting much worse but the rooms were large, clean and come with a kitchenette. I got it on priceline for $32 a night for a 2 star hotel so I can't complain! Internet is only 4.99 for the entire stay which is great. Staff was average. They don't clean your room everyday, just once a week, we didn't have a problem with that. It's right next to Fairlane Mall which is a decent mall that has an AMC theatres so I think that's pretty good. All in all, would def. stay here again for the location, large clean rooms and great priceline price.

“OK as long as you know what you're in for...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2009

I was in town visiting family and basically just needed a place to sleep and shower. I put a low bid on Priceline and this was the property I got for the bargain price of $40 per night. It is a very basic, bare bones property. It's designed for long-term stays. My room had a full-sized refrigerator, two burner stove, microwave, toaster and basic kitchen items. (Very basic - one pot, for example.) The room itself was very plain - just one piece of artwork above the bed. It was clean and smelled fresh. It looked as though it had recently been painted. There was soap in the bathroom but no other amenities. I kinda felt like I was in a college dorm room without my stuff! The furniture was worn and had clearly seen better days. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. I checked in late on a Friday night and went to my room. I wasn't so sure at first, because the hallway carpeting needed to be vacuumed (and could do with a good cleaning as well) and hallway itself smelled strongly of strange cooking odors. The room was pleasant enough, but then I noticed a large puddle of water on the floor. It appeared to be coming from the refrigerator. I called the front desk and Latreisha quickly came up with keys for another room down the hallway. She apologized for the inconvenience and upgraded me to a room with a king bed. It was late so I went to sleep. I realized later that the new room probably was not really intended to be rented, or at least needed a little tidying before it was. It was missing a lot of little things - a telephone, for example! (Is that a security issue? Not a problem for me since I had a cell phone.) Also missing was the coffee pot and supplies, the roll to hang the toilet paper on, bathmat, dish towel. I knew those things were missing because I saw them in the other room. I honestly didn't care because I truly was only sleeping and showing in this room. The bed was clean and comfortable. However, there was no covering on the box spring. The shower was fine with plenty of hot water. The back cover was missing from the remote control and the remote control did not work. I noticed that the TV's were different in the two rooms I saw. The first room had a tiny TV, and the second room had a nice big one. I never watched TV, so I can't tell you any more about it. The curtains were rumpled, but appeared clean. The windows were filthy. The a/c worked fine. There was a light bulb missing from one of the lamps and the lampshades were old and cracked. There were other cars in the parking lot, but the motel was extremely quiet so I had a good night's sleep both nights I stayed. The location is great - right next to Fairlane Mall and lots of restaurants. It is easily accessible from Southfield. Although this property was fine for my short stay, I would not stay here again. I like things a little bit nicer :-) I also question their attention to detail.
