I found through a search on Sidestep that the Super 8 had the lowest rates around Frankenmuth, so I booked it for our road trip from Toronto.
The hotel was easy to find, right off the highway, and even though we were checking in late, they were still very friendly and helpful at the front desk.

Our room was in the building farthest from the lobby, on the second floor (no elevator)
The room was about what you would expect for the money, no frills, but in good shape regardless.
The room was actually a good size, and had a very comfortable easy chair.

Another plus was the television got 70 or so channels.

As mentioned in previous reviews, the Exit restaurant is in front of the hotel.
We tried it for breakfast and were a little under whelmed, so I would suggest you go toward the outlet mall that is only 2 minutes away.
Across the street is Tony's on I75, they are the home of the 1 lb BLT sandwich (they put a whole pound of bacon on this sandwich!!! and it's only 6.00)
Other than the gigantic portions, the food here is really tasty!

Also, right across the street from the hotel is the home of the best burger in Michigan, Halo Burger.

Enjoy your stay, and remember that you are staying at a Super 8, not a Hilton, if you want all the frills, head down the road and pay an extra $50.00 for your room.

My husband and I spent an overnight at the Birch Run Super 8 and found it to be a good value. It was the best price in the area and we were pleased with the accommodations. The room was clean. The breakfast was adequate. The young man at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back again.

My sister, friends and I all stayed here November 4-5, 2006. We chose this hotel because of the price and location to the outlet mall in Birch Run, which is a very short drive(1/4 mile) away. We stayed in the "back" part of the hotel(a building not connected to the main hotel) which had two floors, but no elevator. We were on the second floor, and our room had two queen size beds, a dresser with a TV on top, and a nightstand between the two beds. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. In the shower you were provided with soap and shampoo. It was also very quiet the one night I was there, thank goodness. The hotel is next door to the Exit Restaurant/Bakery, where hotel guests get a discount if you show your hotel key/card. We ate breakfast there. I would not recommend the Exit Restaurant. It was very bland. Maybe lunch or dinner is better. Although the bakery looked very yummy! It is separate from the restaurant & included a small gift shop with a lot of cute and interesting items. On Sunday morning, we went to the hotel lobby for a free continental breakfast (coffee, apple juice, orange juice, donuts, etc).

My sister and I travelled from Toronto to Birch Run to take advantage of the excellent shopping at the Outlet Mall and Bronner's Christmas Store. We stayed for two nights at the Super 8 in Birch Run. The motel was not busy so we were able to get the adjoining rooms in the newer section behind the main motel. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The recliner chair was a nice touch! The complimentary breakfast was definitely minimal, however there were mini-bagels and jam and peanut butter so that suited us fine. It was nice to have free brewed decaf whenever we wanted. Our room card key gave us 10% off at The Exit Restaurant next door. The staff at the motel were very friendly and helpful and we got a coupon for a free gift at Bronner's plus maps for the Outlet Mall. We are planning to return in the fall and we will definitely stay at the Super 8. To get a clean, comfortable room for under $50 is unheard of in Canada!
