Went back to a Big Rapids as an Alumni of Ferris State. Never had been in the hotel. What a amazing surprise. Very friendly staff. The room was clean and very comfortable. Bed was excellent. Ate at Bennigans, the restaurant in the hotel, which was still as good as I remember it. It's very close to campus, technically on it and close to most everything in BR. Friends of use that went to were able to get it for $54 on Hotwire. Nice deal.

we called the front desk from the road asking to get into our room early since husband was attending a conference at the hotel, only to be told that room wasn't guaranteed until 3 o 4 pm. seriously, in big rapids on a thursday? anyway, we wanted to make some special arrangements for a friend of our who was also going to be staying in the hotel, but sarah (at the front desk) was not helpful and actually hung up on us as we were asking to be transferred to the restaurant (to get the help sarah was unable/unwilling to give us). holly, the mgr at the restaurant was great and did everything we could have asked to make our event memorable. meanwhile, when we did arrive, the supervisor was in a meeting and no one was available to see if we might check in early. my husband went off to his conference and i waited in the car until the supervisor came out of her meeting and, after much cajoling, they did give us a room.

location is ok, restaurant drinks were awful--stick with beer. room service was quick, toast was cold, but rest of breakfast was good. rooms were clean, beds were comfy. the pool looked nice. the stationery etc. in the room needed to be replaced--nothing hideous, but there is not a lot of attention to detail here, just the basics.

I had to stay at this hotel for a conference. Long in advance, I requested a king room with a refrigerator, microwave and a working desk. I arrived early that day, around 10 a.m., and was initially told that no clean king rooms were available, which is certainly understandable at that hour.

What wasn't understandable was that when I finally got a room around 3 p.m., I was told that no king rooms were available, so I would get a room with two queen beds.

I arrived in the room to find it had a table, not a desk, with a chair that wasn’t nearly tall enough for the table, making my hours of work on a computer very uncomfortable. Not to mention, no refrigerator or microwave, and a crappy 30-year-old 25-inch CRT TV that got two colors, blue and pink. I was told the hotel was completely sold out and I could take it or leave it. Since the room was prepaid by my company and I would not be reimbursed if I went elsewhere, I decided to take it. But I won't be back unless I have to be.

Oh, and the attached restaurant serves two kinds of food: fatty and fattier. I'm not sure there is anything healthy on the menu.

At least the pool was nice. I enjoyed it on the last morning of my stay...

We stayed there for 2 nights as we were moving our son into Ferris State University. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Will stay there for future visits in Big Rapids, MI
