“casino trip with friends”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

we had plans to go to toledo, oh, to the comedy club and spend the night for my wife's b-day. however, friends of ours, 2 other couples were going to the casino, so we decided to meet them there. we and another couple stayed here, the others went home.
this is the 1st time we stayed here. we usually stay in coldwater (family there) and do the 35 minute drive.
the room was big and comfortable. i thought the bed was really comfortable. my wife thought it was a little hard. but other than that, no complaints about the room.
upon check-in, show your casino players card. you get 20% off your room. they don't advertise this, and we wouldn't have known this if our friends staying there hadn't told us.
they do run a shuttle back and forth to the casino. and they do stop at 2am. remember this.
we got back to our room at 11:05pm. the pizza place advertised in the room closes at 11pm. called downstairs for room service. it also closed up at 11pm. however, you can order food from the lounge until 1am, i believe. but there are no menus for the lounge in your room. you have to go down to the lounge and order something.
then, if you have it delivered to your room, they charge 18% gratuity to your bill. i went back down and got our food.
we had their pizza. was actually pretty good.
the breakfast in the morning was ok. comes with the room.
also, to get to front desk, it's on the side of the interstate, not the road that runs from the casino. they could use better signage for that.
all in all, we would stay here again. we were very happy with eveything. except late night food service, they could do better there.

“Great little place.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

My wife and I stayed here for New Years Eve and had a great stay. We stayed in room 255 which was on the second floor and in the corner. I'm glad we were given that room because it was nice, quiet, and away from all of the other rooms. The room looked as though it has been recently renovated: new carpet, new tile in the bathroom, flat screen tv etc. The room was very clean, the heater worked very well(almost too well), and the shower had very good water pressure. The only downfall I guess was that they didn't have the Big Ten Network(love to watch my Spartans) on cable and they should probably upgrade their cable/satellite to H.D. programming. It wasn't that big of a deal considering we didn't spend a whole lot of time in the room but it would have been nice. We will be back again, next time we'll have to try the restaurant that is attached to the hotel Pasches.

Room Tip: Room 255 is a room in the second floor in the corner, if you're looking for nice quiet room requ...

“Comfortable and inexpensive option for casino fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

This is a great place to stay if you are planning a trip to the Fire Keepers Casino nearby. The beds were comfortable and staff was very friendly and helpful. We checked in quickly and dropped our stuff off in the room, and headed back to the main lobby where their shuttle service picked us up within 5 minutes of sitting there. They run the shuttle to the casino whenever a guest requests the service and picks up from the casino every half hour until 2am. After that, it is a $5 cab ride to the hotel. It is easily accessible from the highway and in case you lose all your money quickly, like we always seem to, there are plenty of stations to watch and free breakfast in the morning. If you are looking for convenience but not interested in paying the high price of the casino, this is a perfect option. We saved around $300 by staying here and not the casino hotel. We had a great time!

Room Tip: Keep in mind that the shuttle runs on the weekend, but cab fares are $5 for two people!

“Badly in need of remodel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

I checked in here while on a business trip. First the good news, the lobby is nicely decorated and the staff are very pleasant. The breakfast bar was fine, nothing fancy but at least waffle iron for fresh waffles. The room was clean.
However, while the room was clean and the bedding was updated, the room itself appears to have last been remodeled in the 60's (they are in the process of a remodel, but should give discounts for the old rooms). The bathroom fixtures were old and rusty. There was no pen or pad of paper in the room. It would be nice to have in the room a copy of the menu from the restaurant attached to the hotel.
Overall, a pretty basic, bare bones hotel. I had expected more for my $100/night. I am glad the staff were pleasant.
