“Decent deal, especially in off season”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We spent a January weekend there with a group of friends. The room rates include an expanded continental breakfast (the french toast was delicious) and your choice of entree for dinner (appetizers and dessert are extra). The dinners were good to very good, depending on how seasoned you like your food. My husband thought one meal lacked seasoning but the next night his meal was very good. Rooms are cozy but certainly adequate (we stayed in the carriage house). Things were clean. This is an old Cape Cod inn so it is not the Hilton - if you want that you should look for something else.

“DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO BAD REVIEWS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I was here over 10 years ago with a camping group and I set up a similar weekend this past weekend 1-28-12 for a group that we camp with now and we can say that any negative reviews on this web site are either fabricated or or from someone who just needs everything handed to them on a silver platter. The rooms are comfortable and clean including the bathrooms, the dining room and everywhere else. The food was excellent and was prepared in a timely manner. The wait staff also excellent and waited on us hand and foot.

Mac was a most gracious host and even had the pool; up to 95 degrees for us by Friday when we arrived. My group wants to go back next year and we have already booked this same weekend.

Room Tip: Any room is good, on R6A but very quiet at night

“Colonial House is a wonderful place to stay.”

Our family including our dog escaped our freezing home due to a multi-day power outage. The Colonial House gave all of us the warmest welcome and great hospitality the never stopped throughout our stay. Instead of raising the rates like some places did during this extended power outage, they were kind to us in our time of need and dropped the rates for us. Speaking of rates...their regular rates are great and they include a wonderful breakfast and the best dinners. The staff went our of their way to make our stay special and we had an enjoyable time with our fellow guests as well. Our young children felt so comfortable there and can't wait to visit again. This was a second visit for my husband and me and we also plan to return in the future to this family-and-pet-friendly inn.

“Colonial House Inn is WONDERFUL !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

We spent the first week of November at the Colonial House Inn and it was a 5 Star stay.
The room was spacious, comfortable & clean, and smelled great (a real problem at some places we've stayed!). The staff was beyond helpful! The concierge and the wait staff were friendly and engaging, and full of helpful information. Mac Perna is a gem in the travel world, giving us suggestions for local Capoe Cod sightseeing and all the insider secrets. We left with a full agenda of recommended stuff to see every day, and they were all SPOT on!
We would gladly return and stay here again if we ever have the chance.

Room Tip: Stayed in Room 210.

“Paranormal Weekend at the Colonial House Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

On October 28-30,2011 we spent the weekend at the Colonial House Inn in Yarmouth Port on Cape Cod Mass.
It was a Paranormal Weekend and I being a Ghost Hunter was all for that, we arrived at the Inn Friday afternoon and was greeted by Mac the owner he was so gratious and gave us a tour of the Inn and a ground level room because of my friends handicap we were pleased with the room we had in the Carriage House amd more pleased when later we were getting some activity on the clock radio and my K2 Meter going off at the same time like morse code and at 3:00AM Friday night there was a loud bang on our door!!! There was a Ghost Walk around town earlier but Mac found out for us it would be too much for us so he gave us the printed information and Saturday morning we did it our selves.Friday night Dinner on the Veranda was wonderful and there is a full stocked bar in the lounge so there are many spirits there ha ha.
Saturday after a great breakfast Mac gave us some shopping tips and directions we had a great time at the Just Picked and the Christmas Tree Shops and when we arrived back we were just in time for the First half of the Paranormal Presentation put on by the Massachusetts Paranormal Society from the area it was very informative and some of the stories from their investigations were great! We broke for Dinner and again the food was delicious after we ate we went back to the Pool area and we got to do a Investigation on the Banquet area and we did get some activity on the K2 Meters and I have a voice on my Tape recorder saying "Want it to me" and " Are we scaring you" so this place is very active.
Sunday morning brought another delicious breakfast then we had to leave but before we did we had Mac sign our Ghost books we purchased at the Inn and told Mac we were doing some more sight seeing at the Ancient Burial Ground and the Museum so there is plenty to do in the area for Haunted Activies and we are already planning a trip back in the Spring so go to their Web Site to see what they are planning.

Room Tip: Ask for the Carriage House 206 or 208 these are the Most Haunted!
