“DISGUSTING”

One word describes this place well - DISGUSTING! Luckily, I wasn't paying for this room. I was here on business. The first thing I saw was that the toilet had three pubic hairs on the seat! Then as I looked some more, I found body hairs on the shower walls and on the kitchenette counter top. And guess what I found in the bathroom sink? More hair! Shaving clippings of some random guest's beard, and to top it off, PHLEGM in the sink! I was so disgusted. This is also the only hotel I ever stayed at that does not clean every day. They have a ONCE A WEEK cleaning service! I would never book an Extended Stay Hotel or any of its chains.

“Quite a bet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 February 2011

I had to choose a hotel close to my work place in Framingham and Extended Stay is the best bet as none of the other hotels in proximity have a kitchen facility. So if you are looking to stay longer and planning to cook your own food, then Extended stay would be the ideal place.
The location is a bit inconvenient as the hotel is somewat hidden and hard to find. But there is a pub at walking distance from the hotel, so if you are a nightlife lover you might find this interesting. The rooms are quite good and the room service is also excellent.
Overall my stay was very comfortable.

“Good deal for the the money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2011

We stayed here for four nights; two of them were seeing concerts in Worcester, and one day was spent in Boston. I chose this hotel because there was a kitchen and thought we might want to cook because we were there for four days. Overall this hotel was a good deal for the money but it certainly wasn't perfect.

It snowed 8 inches when we were there. All of the roads were pretty clear the next day, but the snowplow for the hotel didn't show up until afternoon, then proceeded to do a horrible job. I'm not afraid to drive on snow and ice but the parking lot to the Picadilly Pub next door was immaculately plowed, can't the hotel hire someone to do the same?

There was a kitchen was minimal cookware, and the cookware was about as cheap of quality as it gets. I think they ordered maximum stick cookware. Not to mention they don't supply soap or scrubbies, so if you want to cook more than once, be prepared for a trip to the store. They also don't supply shampoo, and only give you one tiny bar of soap for the shower.

My biggest complaint, however, is with the bed. It was rock hard and I woke up with a backache every morning. I would be hesitant to stay here again because of this, even if somewhere else might cost significantly more.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to someone who is looking for a good deal on a no-frills place in the area.

“Beware if you have asthma or allergies to scents”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2010

Our room was large, very clean, and nicely decorated. The rate, which a few years ago was a relative bargain in the area, is now about average, as the more expensive hotels have lowered their prices. The woman at the front desk when we checked-in was pleasant and seemed organized. Overall, everything was fine.

So why only two stars? Because our room absolutely reeked (no, I Mean REEKED) of industrial "air freshener". Within a minute or two of entering the room, my eyes started watering and my wife's asthma, normally completely under control, began to bother her. The smell was overpowering. We're not talking about a few extra squirts of Glade mist here, this was the Heavy Duty industrial grade stuff, and the room smelled as though it had been hosed down with it.

Neither my wife nor I are delicate, super-sensitive hypochondriacs. Trust me, this was BAD.

We explained the problem to the woman at the front desk, who was mildly concerned, and when we asked to change rooms, she offered no objection, but she noted that since they were all cleaned in the same way, we would not be able to find one without that unbelievably intense smell.

We asked why the hotel cleaning staff and/or management felt that such an extreme treatment was necessary or desirable. Her reply was that guests are allowed to cook in the rooms, and subsequent guests often found the cooking odors objectionable. Also, guests are allowed to have pets, and in some cases, the pets create unpleasant odors. Finally, guests are sometimes smoke in non-smoking rooms, which creates problems for subsequent non-smoking guests.

We later stopped at the nearby Extended Stay America Deluxe, and spoke with the manager there, hoping to find a room where the air was breathable. He was very pleasant and helpful, but he confirmed that they too had the same issues and used the same "solution", so their rooms would not be any less problematic.

We ended-up sleeping in our coats and clothes with the windows wide open. Luckily, it was only in the mid 40's. After about 18 hours with the windows open, the smell had dissipated significantly and the air in the room was approaching breathable.

The next day, the new woman at the desk was genuinely concerned by our experience, and offered to send us a coupon for a night's stay at any of the ESA hotels. She promised to pass along our experience to the manager, and promised that the issue will be addressed.

24 hours later, the clothes we were wearing still smell strongly of the chemical, and we're hoping that dry cleaning with get rid of it.

Except for the stench, the hotel is actually reasonably nice. Be that as it may, however, we will not be going back.
