“A Pilots Getaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2011

My wife and I stayed at Lambert’s Cove on the 6th of February. Of course the service was absolutely amazing, we had the whole place to ourselves. But as we travel to off season places frequently, and then on season, we know off season is a measure of the service on season. This place is definitely incredible! Take caution driving up to the Inn, as it’s a 1 lane dirt road, but the payback of that is awesome! We slept fantastic, because there is no traffic driving by. The room and common areas were immaculate! We definitely felt at home from arrival to departure. When we return this is where we will be staying.

Some info for the pilots, this is your place! You all know what a pilots service expectation is because you get around often, and at Lambert’s Cove it will be exceeded. This is the best place we have stayed off season! Get vacation insurance, there is a tower at the airport, and car rental right at the airport. If you wake up and fly in late Sunday the restaurant at the airport serves breakfast till 2pm. But stay at Lamberts, and let them prove what I am talking about, they will.

This is the most perfect Inn you could ever imagine, unless you get the room we did and are so overwhelmed by the smell of mold and mildew that you get sick. What a shame. We led it but have to find a new venue.

Our Inn was built in 1790 and was totally renovated five years ago. The rooms are meticulously cleaned on a daily basis and rarely do we ever have a complaint about smells. Some guests are much more sensitive to certain smells than others and we try to keep the rooms as fragrance free as possible without losing the fresh clean smell.

“Tranquil Setting, Wonderful Hosts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2010

We stayed for an off-season weekend to visit friends living on the Island. The location was gorgeous, even with most of the leaves on the ground. The rooms were clean and cozy - not very big, but not too small - and nicely appointed (no coffee pots in the rooms, but you can get it anytime in the main area). The breakfasts were wonderful. Plenty to chose from on the menu, and everything was delicious. The only thing missing was skim milk (only lowfat choice was 2%). Free wi-fi was great. The most memorable part of our stay was the absolutely gratious and friendly proprietors/hosts.

The location is remote, so don't expect to be able to walk into town. If you are looking for a quiet weekend getaway, I highly recommend this one. I can't wait to return in the summer when the gardens are in bloom and the pool is open!

“A Gem of an Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2010

Lambert's Cove Inn & Restaurant was the highlight of our recent two weeks driving trip in New England. We are seasoned travelers and unanimous in giving Lambert's Cove high ratings for food, accomodations, setting and staff.
The food is extraordinary. Our entrees, the lobster and the veal cheeks, were prepared and seasoned to perfection. We were so impressed that we ate in the dining room our second night on the Vineyard and discovered crab cakes that rivaled the best in Charleston. The bread and breakfast scones are not to be missed. If you can't stay there, by all means, you must make reservations at Lambert's Cove for dinner. It will be on your memorable meals list.
The common areas of the inn are beautifully designed and appointed. There has been much thought to guests' comfort and interest in the unique furniture and decorative accessories. A selection of books of local interest engage guests in the Martha's Vineyard experience. Background music is always playing quietly at Lambert's Cove to set the relaxed atmosphere. Our Hamptons Room accomodation was spacious and well decorated. Numerous lamps provided plenty of light. The closets were generous. Our porch view of the pool and nature preserve beyond was a bonus.
The gardens and grounds are another reason to stay or plan an event at Lambert's Cove. Most of our two weeks trip was touring some of the finest gardens in the northeast and Lambert's Cove's grounds were a gardener's delight. The flower beds were filled with a variety of well tended plantings lush with blooms. A wedding set in this garden would be a dream come true at any season since the gardens are designed to provide beauty in almost every season.
Finally, our stay was enhanced by well trained staff who are attentive, personable and genuinely pleased to welcome you to the inn and restaurant.
Lambert's Cove Inn & Restaurant is a gem of an inn. It is worth every penny.

“Seclusion at its best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2010

A time to remember. We spent a total of five nights in lovely Lambert's Cove Inn on Martha's Vineyard. This place is a true gem, located romantically about 1km off the road in the middle of a forest. Lambert's Cove beach is the benchmark on the whole island but we also very much enjoyed swimming in the nearby freshwater pond in early evenings. Service in the Inn was excellent and the restaurant is worth every dollar.
