Hotel may have had a sprucing up recently. Room was clean, nicely furnished, and seemed well maintained. A slight drip in the bathtub. Internet worked well. Continental Breakfast was fine as continental breakfasts go. Halls a bit worn but generally clean with no garbage or leftover food around. Lobby quite nice with modern furnishings. Staff very pleasant and efficient. Actually seemed a bit better than last year when we stayed here.

As a former Western MA resident, I'm particularly familiar with this hotel. As such, over the last 15 or so years, I have visited this hotel a number of times. Unfortunately, this timeline chronicles a downward slope of customer service and overall hotel cleanliness and upkeep.

Back when this hotel was a Best Western, it was the premiere spot along Riverdale Road in West Springfield - you had to go to downtown Springfield to get a better quality room, and even that was debatable. Now, with absolutely zero signs of anything having changed from the 90's, it is a remnant of an earlier hayday. It's as if the owners said, "let's not maintain or update a single thing - and let the whole show run on autopilot until we drive it to the ground."

Even between our most recent visit (12/17/11) and the one prior (some time in October 2011), the degredation of "guest experience" was marked and noticeable.

It's disappointing because the hotel has the potential to remain a marquis property along this strip of road. It has an inground pool and phenomental atrium. But as I say, nothing has been updated, so it's frozen in time.

Our most recent visit was disappointing in every way, the only thing that went smoothly was the check-in and check-out processes, and the fact we were given the crib as we requested. The carpeted floors are in incredibly bad shape, as is the condition of the rooms themselves. The room we had contained a heating unit that had to've been circa 1984. Walls had multiple plaster patches that no one bothered to paint or re-paper and everything was just - dirty and old.

Worst of all, the pool (main reason for us picking this hotel time and again), was ice cold. Our kids dipped their feet in but it was a completely miserable time. Even the hot tub which my wife and I took turns using to warm ourselves up, smelled awful - like sulfur or something equally caustic. The whole thing was capped off by seeing bits of vomit on the carpet in the atrium.

I'm very disappointed that the place has gone downhill to the extent it has. I will only return if I know that the entire place has been revamped stem-to-sturn. Do not use this place unles you know excatly what you're getting into and are ok with it.

We were in the area for a hockey tournament and ended up here. The hotel is secluded off the road. When we drove down the driveway we saw some, unsavory characters loitering around or cutting through the fences. Inside was your run of the mill low rate hotel. The room was small, in need of cosmetic upgrading and did not keep the noise out. Hated the tiny tv with awful reception too. We bailed out early.

As others have noted; dirty, dingy, and sorely in need of new management. Would still be disappointing at half the price. Pool was cold, but only slightly cooler than the shower. Skip this place.
