I stayed at the Copper Lantern back when my husband and I were remodelling our home. They had a weekly rate, and we stayed in one of their efficiency rooms so we could use the stove.

The clerk who took our reservation was friendly and helped us to pick out what we needed. When we checked in, the manager told us when the office closed, but let us know that she lived on-site and would be able to help us out if we needed her. Turns out we didn't, but it was good to know just in case. The room was very clean and smelled nice. I noticed that after the maids cleaned rooms, the desk clerk checked their work.

I have already told other people about the Copper Lantern. When our daughter gets married next year, we are definitely going to see if they have any vacancies for our family and friends. By staying here rather than in Sturbridge we had a little bit of a longer commute to work, but because of the rate and the cleanliness I thought it was worth the drive.

They didn't have cable TV, but I was told that when I made my reservation, so I wasn't surprised or disappointed. We weren't here to watch TV anyway, so it wasn't that important. (We brought a VCR.)

I stayed at the Copper Lantern Motor Lodge last week and it was great. It's cool to see these kinds of family run motels still around these days. The staff was very professional, smart and friendly. You definitely get your money's worth for the rooms - I stayed in an efficiency unit that has a kitchen for a great bargain. The area is clean and quiet and they are set back from Route 9. Check out their website (-----)- there's more to do in that area than you think, if you're looking to get away for a little trip.

I spent a night at the Copper Lantern this past summer. From the street, it's pretty unimpressive looking, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it clean, comfortable, and pretty well furnished for a roadside motel.
My room was very spacious and the beds were both nicer looking and more comfortable than I might have expected. My room had a fridge and a microwave in it - again, more than I expected for such a low price. The bathroom was small but clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Overall, it's a really good value. You could pay more to stay somewhere else and be less satisfied. I would recommend it to anyone who's visiting the area.
