My husband and I spent two nights at the Copper Lantern Motor Lodge, so we could attend a funeral in West Brookfield. My sister, who lives in the area, reserved our room, so I didn't know what to expect. We weren't going to be able to arrive until very late at night because our flight was delayed, so I called the front desk to let them know. I spoke with the manager, who assured me that my room was still being held, and gave me some driving directions so I could avoid the most slippery roads. When we arrived, check-in was no problem and the lights were on in our room for us. She asked if we needed help with our bags, and we (gratefully) accepted. The room is very clean and larger than I would have expected for the price I paid. She asked if we needed a wake-up call, but I told her that we planned to sleep in a little. The next day, I found out that she'd asked the housekeepers to be extra quiet when cleaning near our room and not to disturb us so we could sleep in. I thought this was a nice touch and it made a difficult time more pleasant. We left a good tip for the maids when we finally checked out, and my good tip for the motel itself is this letter. : )
