“A wonderful surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2009

This hotel in Waltham, MA exceeded our expectations in every way. The lobby was warm, furnished with books and resembled a library. Check in was friendly, polite, and helpful. Our room was large, well furnished, clean, and quiet. We weren't nickel and dimed -- Internet was included, as well as an ample breakfast. . And all this for a room rate that would have been more than double or triple at a Marriott or Hyatt. And free parking! There's also an excellent seafood restaurant next door with good food and reasonable prices. Also, the location right off of Rte 128 is very accessible to the airport, area colleges and businesses, Boston, and the Mass Pike. We've traveled around the world and stayed in many places. This one was a great surprise and we would definitely stay here again when we're in the Boston area.

“Dated but well run. Clean. Good service. Great Breakfast.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2009

We were in town for an MIT graduation and although the Home Suites Inn had the best price (Hotwire) and is a good location for getting onto Rts. 128, Rt. 95, Rt. 90, it was very difficult to get to the Harvard/MIT area of Cambridge. Maybe it's just the drivers who habitually block intersections -- or are in a hurry to their own graduation/reunion events.
GPS was almost a requirement!

Bed was excellent, as was the shower. Everything worked. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was outstanding: much better than any (free/included) breakfast I have ever had. Scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, cereals, granola, yogurt, good coffee.
Good bed. Room was rather dark: not much light from the single smallish window.

Not good at all for handicapped. Many stairs even to check in. Wheeled suitcases don't help much. Bathroom too small (we didn't ask for a handicapped room). Where's the bathroom fan?

Everything clean, pleasant staff. If you can do stairs, reaching the car out back from the room is easy.

“Nice Hotel for price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2009

We stayed at Home Suites Inn for one night. We booked through priceline and payed 57 for the night. The Hotel room was very clean and the staff were wonderful. The bathroom is small but for one night it was fine. The water pressure was nice and the temperature was great. It was very quiet the night we stayed. Breakfast in the morning was a very nice hot buffet. We ate dinner at the restaurant there and the food was excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

“Excellent Breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2008

I stayed here for a business trip and overall this place was average. I encountered a few problems. First my television stopped working and was given another one. My new one did not have a remote control, so I had to get a one from the desk. However it did not work except on/of and volume. My first night I froze because my heater did not turn on. Apparently you have to set the temperature to 50 and then 70 to hear it click. After that my room heated up quickly.

The room was average compared to a Motel 6. I did have a small refrigerator and a microwave. The bathroom needed help where mole and mildew was present. The shower water valve kept moving by itself to scolding hot.

On the bright side the staff was nice and they provided an excellent breakfast buffet at no cost. The room had a network jack as if you were plugging your computer to your home router, but a new computer and printer was located at the lobby free to use for printing your airline boarding pass.

The pool is outside and not used during the winter, but they had a small work out room on the first level.

The room numbering was a bit confusing where the first floor was considered the second for one side to the hotel. So room number 325 was really on floor 2.

This low value hotel surprisingly had an upper scale restaurant on its property called the ‘Naked Fish’. This place was excellent.

The stay was fine, but there are a lot of other hotels nearby better or worse.

“Big Mistake”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2008

Bathroom was incredibly small with no fan. Beds were dipped in the middle and not comfortable. Ceiling tiles were water marked. Noise level was loud. No way to adjust room temp. Room was stifling when we arrived. We were offered a fan because the hotel is not on a dual system to heat and cool at the same time. Buffet consists of scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, fried potatoes (luke warm), hash, make your own waffle and assorted pastries, bagles. Definetly would not recommend staying here. Two other options across and down the street.
