“Nice stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

I would have give a 5 rating but for the noise from the guests next door; normal noise level was not an issue.

Typical HGI room with a king bed, very clean with good size flat screen.

Pros: clean rooms, breakfast was much better than other HGI's that I have stayed. Made to order was great, very friendly chef; room service was also very good. We had arrived late; we ordered pizza and a salad... salad was very fresh, pizza extremely hot and actually much better than expected!! Overall, the food is well above average.

Cons: No HD for a nice flat screen. Parking can be a challenge if the hotel is full and you arrive late... parking is available to the rear of the building, however, the lighting is bare minimum. My wife was not too happy when we came in late on several occasions and had to park in the back.

“Nice hotel - nothing amazing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

ROom is pretty standard - nothing amazing - location ok... Naked Fish restaurant just outside is very good.

Bed was ok - but not massively keen on the sheets - felt quite synthetic. Heating a little noisy and internet a little slow.

However for $109 can't really complain and the breakfast included was pretty nice.

“Business Oriented”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

Stayed here for a conference, Group rate $105. The hotel appeared oriented to support business travel versus tourist customers. Room nice with coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave. Free wireless was easy to access and fast. The restaurant was open for breakfast and dinner only-no lunch. Had one dinner that was better that good- honest food with fresh steamed broccoli versus frozen mushy unusual side offering at most cafes. Bar open evenings. There was a small shop/store off the lobby offering snacks and convenience items. The pool was small, cold and there wasn't a restroom, shower or changing room, which meant that you had to troop out to the lobby bathroom or your room dripping once you were finished or needed to use the facility. The staff were super friendly and did a good job of ensuring all guests were aware of the change in time during our stay because of Day Light Savings time change and that all the hotel clocks were changed promptly (no small task). Extras included complementary cookies and lemonade in the afternoon. In the morning there was a complementary coffee/tea set up which included green tea and half and half. Large parking lot with free unattended parking, however there were so many "Park at your own Risk" signs I felt nervous parking in the farthest dark corner for fear of theft. Although the location of the hotel is easy access off the freeway, it was quiet. Good drapes blocked out the morning sun and allowed us to sleep after sunrise. Mattress was comfortable, however had a significant hip-area depression that gently pulled me to that section of the mattress--weird. The restaurant across the street from the hotel is awsome-Naked Fish. A bit far from downtown Boston if your primary reason for visiting the area is focused there.

“Very nice staff but mediocre property”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

Waltham has a large number of hotels at just about every price point. The Hilton Garden Inn is just one of them. Our stay happened to be during a severe ice storm that knocked out power in much of New England including in some of the areas adjacent to this hotel. That meant finding a room within 100 miles of home was more important than the price. That said, the price was quite high for the hotel's quality. The rooms are quite basic and noise travels right through the walls if there are little kids nearby. On the plus side, the sfaff is really friendly. Everyone from the chef staffing the omelet station at breakfast to the housekeepers seems really happy to be working there.

Room Tip: Be sure to request a room away from any families with small children -- unless you're bringing y...

“Business trip review”

Typical Hiltion Garden Inn. No surprises, no issues. Friendly staff, decent wifi connectivity and if I ever come back to Waltham for work, I'll stay here...

Room Tip: Arrive early so that you get a front parking spot, otherwise, you'll be parking in the back and...
