“Superb front desk people...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

I am a business traveler spending 100+ nights in hotels per year. Mostly in PriorityClub hotels.
My visit with this facility was both pleasant and well cared for. I forgot my phone charger and prevailed upon the desk to help me. I was accomodated at every turn and wish I could remember the evening desk clerk's name to give her credit for a job well done. The breakfast facility was well cared for and any needs were quickly taken care of by Maria. The fitness facility actually has a universal weight machine as well as the usual eliptical/stair stepper(some of us are still trying to maintain muscle mass...).
My only grousing point was housekeeping failing to replinish my shampoo. Please, please, please just put a new bottle in the bathroom. Saving a 25 cent bottle of shampoo by taking inventory of what is still in my shower is false economy. It just irritates the guest when they have to get dressed and go down to the desk to get another bottle of shampoo. Just put another bottle in there. At $150 a night you can afford to lose an extra bottle of shampoo every now and then.

“You get what you pay for. Repeat: you get what you pay for.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

This hotel proves how much easier it is to build a decent, clean budget hotel than it is to staff one.

The rooms are fine. They're spacious, the amenities and decor are fine. It's basically clean.

But the chair is kind of busted. The bathroom door doesn't quite shut. It smells like smoke. And there's clearly nobody at the property whose job it is to walk around, and find and fix these things.

Every fault at this property is what I'd call a "software" issue, meaning people instead of bricks and mortar. We were promised adjoining rooms, but they were unavailable at check-in and the desk was surprised we'd been offered such a thing. Of the two rooms to which we were assigned, one reeked of smoke as if the butt was still warm (a non-smoking room, by the way). We were moved to two adjacent rooms, which were fine.

It's a decent budget hotel. You get what you pay for, which is fine. I'd suggest it's better for the business traveler than the family trip. Don't expect amenities, but expect a decent, clean, spacious room for a fair price.

Dear “ajeske”

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review about your stay with us. I am happy to hear that overall you enjoyed the room, but am sorry to hear about the “software” issues you encountered during your stay with us. We do have a Rooms Mechanic program in place, where one person is specifically in charge of inspecting each guest room to find things such as the bathroom door not shutting and fixing them prior to a guest finding them, but unfortunately this issue appears to have been missed before your arrival. Again, thank you for taking the time to write this review as your feedback helps us improve. We hope to see you again if your travels bring you back to Waltham!

Safe travels,

Melissa Gagnon

“Affordable option to staying over in Boston...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Clean, fresh, modern decor, very professional friendly staff, decent complimentary breakfast, easy to find from Rt.90 w. Quiet area, suburban and just 10 miles from Boston! Very affordable. Our saturday rate was $125.complete. I requested a quiet room and was given a great corner room.
Its a steal if your visiting boston and don't want to pay $250 and up for a chain hotel in the city... we will probably go back to boston this morning to return to the north end for coffee and pastries! (its that close!)

“Our Go To Place in Waltham”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

We have a daughter at Brandeis University and visit her at least once or twice a semester. We've never had a bad stay. Contrary to some other comments, we've found the front desk people very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and breakfast is fine, plenty of choices and ample amounts. Breakfast room is spacious enough to accommodate the guests easily. Even the women who keeps the breakfast room cleaned and stocked was pleasant and helpful. We've booked here through Cheaprooms.com and have gotten EXCELLENT value. Recommend wholeheartedly and we will continue to return

“Paper-thin walls”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

Hotel is pleasant and clean enough, but the walls are paper thin. A few women were in the next room chatting late at night, not even yelling, and I could hear their voices through the wall, even over the AC fan. Not great for a light sleeper, unless you remember to bring ear plugs.

Room Tip: Bring earplugs!

Dear Laura B,

I want to thank you for staying with us and also for taking the time to share your comments about our hotel and your stay. It is always good to hear about the good as well as the areas where we can improve. Hearing that the walls are thin is helpful as we can take this into consideration when we renovate in the future. I hope that you will consider us again on your next trip to Waltham!

Safe travels,
