“Good Business Hotel With Some Glitches”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I recently stayed at the Embassy Suites Waltham for five nights on business. Overall this is an excellent business hotel and had a great stay that was very comfortable.

The hotel property itself is very well maintained. Everything feels pretty new, the hotel was recently renovated. There is a fitness center and indoor pool which has modern equipment and was a good size.

The rooms are standard Embassy Suites with a separate bedroom and living area. The room is always kept very clean and everything is in good working order. The bed is very comfortable and the sitting area and bedroom have modern flat screen HD TV's. Climate control works well and if you like getting some fresh air like I do, the window opens as well.

The service is fantastic, everyone of the staff was very friendly and helpful. I ate at the restaurant for the free breakfast in the morning and for dinner a couple of times and it was very good, better then most Embassy Suites I stayed at.

There were only two issues that others might notice. First is that the WiFi was very slow while I was there. I called the tech support and they said it was an issue they were working on so I am assuming that doesn't happen all the time. If your working however it was too slow to do anything during most of my stay, its a bit of a problem for business travelers and something to consider. I am also not real big on WiFi issues taking three days to fix, its not exactly like WiFi is a new technology anymore and most people just expect it to work well right away. The second issue was the hot water which seems to be a bit in short supply in the morning.

Overall a very good stay and place I would return to.

Dear hdblue,
Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review of the Embassy Suites Boston Waltham.
As I share all feedback with my team, they were especially appreciative of your positive comments about the service you received in addition to the positive food and beverage experiences. We truly work hard to provide this level of service to all of our guests and your comments certainly confirmed our efforts have paid off!
Although we may experience slow internet from time to time, we are aware that our current band width may not be up to some of our guest’s standards. That said, we are anticipating the installation of more band width to the hotel, essentially quadrupling what we have to offer today.
Finally, hot water is typically not an issue at the hotel. We will from time to time have to adjust the mixing valve in the shower to ensure consistent hot water. I would assume that you had found hot water at the sink and at the wet bar. This is a very quick fix and occurs infrequent, at best.
Once again, thank you for your review and feedback and we all look forward to your return in the near future.
Best regards,
Rob Weitz

“Great place to stay for business”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The new Embassy Suites used to be a Double Tree hotel. I actually liked the operation better when it was a Double Tree location, I think the rooms were in better condition and better perks when it was a Double Tree location.
There is nothing wrong with the Embassy Suites, nice location with very curtious customer service. During the week, the hotel is mainly used by "business people", then during the weekend, its taken over by families. During the week its very quiet and "professional" but the during the weekend, there are kids running around all over the place.
The hotel is in a great location for my needs. There are a couple of restuarants across the street and a Costco behind the hotel. I would stay in this hotel again.

Dear Joel1316,

Thank you for your review and comments, I very much appreciate your thoughts! The hotel did recently complete a major renovation of the entire hotel including all public areas in addition to entirely brand-new bathrooms, wet-bars, furniture, and televisions in every suite. It is a bit puzzling about your note on the condition of the suites, though. It is true, that as a Doubletree, our guests were welcomed with a warm chocolate cookie, and I miss them too from time to time. What we have been able to do though is replace the cookie with a fully renovated hotel where a Complimentary Full Cooked-to-Order breakfast and evening manager’s reception is included in your rate.
As you mentioned, we typically cater to our business travelers during the week while over the weekends we look forward to serving our leisure and family travelers. Either way, we strive to ensure great guest service, safety, and comfort for all of our guests.

We really look forward to your return visit to the Embassy Suites Boston Waltham!

All the best,
Rob Weitz

“what a treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We recently spent a long weekend here attending a family function, also held at the hotel. The suites are 2 full rooms with a bath and separate small room with sink, frig, microwave, coffee pot, closet. Very nicely appointed. The breakfast (included) was excellent; in addition to the usual juice, cereal, yoghurt, bread, bagels, pastries, and fixings they had made to order omelets and pancakes, all very good. We also had dinner there for convenience, and they had a nice menu with good, well prepared food. As it snowed on Saturday, it was a real plus for us out-of-towners to have the function in the hotel and they did an excellent job with this as well. They also were very willing and available to clean off cars and shovel out parking spots for people when they were leaving. My only complaint is that they charge $10.95 for WI-FI. Since almost all cheap motels have it for free, this is just plain annoying.

Room Tip: The second floor could have a noise problem if there is an evening event in the 2nd floor bar area.

“Love this hotel for college visits.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We have two sons in college in the Boston area. This one is minutes away from Bentley University where our youngest attends. We have stayed here twice and love it. Staff is very friendly, free parking, free breakfast, and the rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. We will definitely return.
