“It is a mix between the good and bad reviews let me explain.”

Lets start with the vineyard itself just in case some will be your first time. Its really 3 towns that you would want to do things in so having transportation is a good idea, even more so if you want to go out to the beach and point. Its the land of b and b's. The mansion is probably the most hotel like b and b on the island. there are hotel/resorts there(limited) but if you want a b and b, but have not have the creepiness of a small one this is good pick. The breakfast is good and standard like a fancy hotel, instead of a small b and b where you standing up in someones kitchen with strangers eating an english muffin. The front desk is pretty inept at times, parking is limited in a small lot in the alley behind the place. but not a problem when i was there. i had a jeep and left the door and windows of each night no problems. the rooms are a mix between a b and b and a classic upper scale hotel. some with balconys with furniture just a couple chairs but nice to have a glass of wine on. Martha's is just a place to chill and get away. this is a good, easy place to stay and not regret. close pharmacy, liquor store, grocery store, bakery, coffee shop, car rental etc.. all walkable but still small town neighbor hood feel. a charmer. stay there.

Room Tip: get a small balcony so you can have air in the room

My husband and I recently spent our 28th Anniversary at our local hotel for what is called a staycation. WE have a wonderful suite on the 4th floor, delicious dinner at Zephrus Zeafood & Grill and really enjoyed ourselfs. We will recomend the Manion House to all our friends and hope to go again.

“Lady who answers phone couldn't have been less helpful...”

I called to set up a reservation time for 4 people and was trying to figure out some things about the House that weren't on the website. I couldn't believe how uninterested this lady was to help me. There are four of us and I want to know the best room to suit our needs, she responded with ONLY one word answers and got so snotty with me I hung up on her. This is not the type of service I expected from a place like this. I certainly do not want to stay here and would pay more to get the service I thought the Mansion House would offer. DO NOT STAY HERE

Please...Please...Please call us back! Our resident Sherlock Holmes can’t figure out who answered the phone (unless it was the off site /after hours answering service) and all of us want another chance. Usually we talk too much on the phone, since we love to brag about this place we proudly call home. Winter is a great time for a Vineyard getaway. Island life slows down, there are still things to do, folks are friendly and some of Mansion House rooms have fireplaces and views of Vineyard Sound. Please call us again. As a family owned Inn, our goal is to help you in any way we can.

“A Warm Welcome, Comfort and a Health Club Too”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

A terrific hotel: a welcoming and accommodating and friendly staff; comfortable rooms with views of the shops along Main Street in Vineyard Haven or of the harbor. Our stay included use of the well-appointed health club, a real deal with a large swimming pool, jacuzzi, weight rooms, yoga room. Spa treatments available also. We had a fabulous salsify cod stew at the in-house restaurant Zephrus on a cold winter night. Perfect. Plus a full American complimentary breakfast. Off-season rates and special offers make Mansion House our top choice for winter travel on the Vineyard.

“Mansion House is wonderful”

We only go to Marthas Vineyard off-season and we find the most reasonable accommodations to be at Mansion House. (also the best location). The prices are affordable for very nicely appointed rooms and the complimentary breakfast is excellent. And with the hotel is use of their spa and pool! The staff is super friendly and having the cozy restaurant Zepherus attached to it is very convenient. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Room Tip: Theres over 40 rooms starting with queen size which we had which was more than adequate. But poking...
