This is a terrific hotel for business travelers. It had everything I seek in a hotel when I am traveling, provided all the services well, and exceeded my expectations.
The sign for the hotel was a little difficult to see (maybe a light in the sign was out?) but it was right next to the Wendy's sign. Check in was quick, efficient, and friendly. As we munched on a complimentary cookie during check in we asked about nearby restaurants and got a two sided sheet with a number of local restaurants and detailed instructions on getting to them. This wasn't just a listing of chain restaurants in the area, either. We were looking for seafood and were directed to Joe Fish, a restaurant that was a good 15 minute drive but well worth the drive.
The room was very comfortable including lots of pillows on the bed and a very nice bathroom. The now ubiquitous curved curtain rod was present and water was hot quickly. The towels were just so-so, but they did the job. TV was a large flat screen and was very nice, although the signal appeared to not be digital and picture quality was not great. One nice feature was the number of outlets in the room. Usually I have to hunt blindly under or beneath the bed for a plug, but this room had plugs available for my laptop and my cell phone charger. The wall mounted heater tends to blow behind the curtain and makes it billow out into the room, but I tucked the curtain onto the window sill and that seemed to resolve the issue. The thermostat on the heater worked well.
One thing to watch out: when I opened my door quickly, the deadbolt would sometimes pop out. When the door closed, it would then be held open. Another person I was traveling with mentioned this happened to them as well, so it does not sound like it is isolated to one room. Make sure the door latches behind you when you leave your room.
Wifi was free and easy to access. Wake up call was automated, easily configured, and woke me on time. The desk and chair were adequate to the job of working on email and I had plenty of space for everything. There was also an in room coffee maker, but coffee is also always available in the lobby.
Breakfast the next morning was very good, as good as any self serve breakfast I have had at a hotel of this type. Included was a waffle maker, scrambled eggs and sausage, lots of bread options, a basic selection of pastries, fruit, and oatmeal with three different toppings. USA Today papers were available in the lobby next to the breakfast area. There were lots of tables available in the eating area and the person tending to the area was ensuring the tables were cleaned and wiped down as people left.
Overall a very nice place to stay and somewhere I would stay again.
Room Tip: I did not notice anything that would make room selection better.
