In the last 2 weeks I have stayed at the top 2 rated hotels in Sturbridge as per TripAdvisor and have found both lacking. This time it was the Super 8. I pulled into the parking lot around 6PM, an hour after sundown and wasn't positive they were open even though I had reservations. Found the office and found it staffed by a very nice young man engrossed in his Facebook page (or something similar). It was at that time he realized it was dark and started turning on lights. He seemed a little distracted, but was pleasant and efficient. My room was on the first floor which was appreciated since I carry a lot of equipment, especially when there are no elevators. However, I wasn't pleased with the fact that the room directly above me was occupied and I could hear every step that person took. If the hotel was crowded I certainly could understand, but in addition to mine there was only 4 other cars in the parking lot (and no others showed up during the night) and one of them belonged to the front desk attendant. 50 or 60 rooms and you put 3 of the rooms together? At least space them a room or two apart just for the noise factor, you can fill in later if needed. Fortunately my upstairs neighbor was quiet during the hours I was sleeping. Now to the title of this review and my biggest issue with this hotel, in the my room there was only 3 outlets, 1 in the bathroom and the other 2 in the rest of the hotel room. No place to plug in a laptop (poor internet coverage) or any of the other equipment that I need to charge at night as all the outlets were filled and then some. The outlet behind the bed had a lamp and an extension cord plugged in to it and the extension cord had another lamp and the alarm clock plugged in to it...reasonable. The outlet by the TV was the dangerous one with the TV, mini-fridge, microwave and two lamps plugged in to it using an adapter...I'm pretty sure that is a fire waiting to happen and it is enough to keep me from staying there again.
