This is my 3rd year staying at the Sturbridge Heritage. The owners are really nice and accommodating. The rooms all have microwaves and refrigerators which is really great for me since I stay for at least a few weeks.

The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated. The water in the shower is always hot no matter how many guests are at the motel which is more than I can say for some really pricey hotels that I've stayed in. It is always nice and quiet. I call it "a home away from home".

I would highly recommend the Heritage for anyone planning on staying in or around the Sturbridge area.

Every wonderful thing that's been written about this little place is true. We had a very nice overnight stay in a Queen suite, and I have to say, it was the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in, bar none! My husband could only point to the Four Seasons for a business trip as being as clean as this room was. It was roomy and pleasantly decorated. Nothing fancy, but nothing horribly cheap either. I did notice that the shower fixture was coming loose from the wall, and our key didn't work the top deadbolt from the outside, but that is the only criticism I have. Kim and Richard were lovely, answered all our questions and made check-in and check-out very easy. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Before I begin, I must say that the owners of the Heritage Motel were very accommodating to us in fulfilling our request for a refund after arriving at the property. I do thank them much much much for that.

Beyond that, unless you are a traveler with pets, this hotel is a terrible choice. We booked two rooms, and though they were very very cheap (49-59$), they both smelled horribly of pets and pet/cat urine. We did stay one night and all of us could barely sleep because of the stench. It was quite disgusting.

The rooms themselves seemed clean enough, and the problem could probably be remedied by replacing all of the motel's carpeting (preferably with laminate or tile, if pets are to be permitted).

Additionally, the property itself didn't seem to be very well kept up on the outside. Could use some sweeping and some real plants. The place was full of fake outdoor plants/flowers--kind of creepy.

If the carpeting were replaced and the outside of the property received some TLC, it might be kind of a cute place. But until then, avoid at all costs unless you are looking for a pet motel.

I stayed with the Heritage Motel with my three children ages 3,9, and 11. I chose this motel because of the other reviews here on this site. Thank You to everyone who left a review because this place was fantastic. I made the reservation over the phone, very late one evening. I then had further questions so I sent the motel an email. I had a response answering all my questions within 12 hours! Unbelievable communication!! Our stay was just as impressive. We stayed in a room with 2 double beds and a cot. We were there 2 nights and they made us feel right at home. The room was immaculate and comfortable. I was not crammped even with my three young children. Also, my kids loved the basketball hoop in the parking lot and I loved it too because they could play and I didnt have to worry about traffic because the motel is set back from the road. The thing that I found most impressive was that the owners reserve and clean every room, so you always know can count on things being done right.They really care. I asked them for restaurant recommendations and family activities. They sent us to a great family beach that even had an ice truck (which my kids LOVED!) and also to a really great local playground . The owner has a family so they know what it is like to travel with kids. I had a really fantastic time and I recommend this place over anywhere I have ever stayed. Best stop in Sturbridge! Can't beat the quaint charm!
