“Clean room for great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We normally stay in bed and breakfasts whenever we travel. We were looking for a cheaper alternative in the Sturbridge area. We wouldn’t arrive until after 10:30 PM at night and would leave early in the morning. We checked trip advisor and were intrigued by the Scottish Inn’s reviews and price ($60 a night with AAA discount). We booked it and arrived on a very snowy night. The front clerk was very friendly and check in was quick. We had requested a non-smoking king room. We were pleasantly surprised by how clean the room was. The room was not huge, but it was fully functional. It included a refrigerator, microwave, dining table and 2 chairs. The furniture was solid and attractive (no wiggly drawers made of corkboard). The walls were a lovely light yellow. The bathroom was good sized. It was a chilly night, but the room warmed up quickly when we turned on the heat. The bed was firm and comfy. This is not a luxury establishment, but it is a great place for a night or two. We would definitely stay here again.

Final note: It snowed during our overnight stay. We saw the owners cleaning off all of the snow covered cars in the morning. You won't get that kind of service at a chain hotel!

Room Tip: We had a king size non-smoking room.

“What do you expect for a motel?”

This motel was average. Our room was decently clean except for a stain on the mattress which was gross.

“Great Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

For an very low price you get a clean, comfortable place to stay. Simple and straightforward.

Having driven all day, and leaving early the next morning, we simply needed a place to rest for the night, and we were not disappointed. We arrived after dark and left before daylight, but the building exterior appeared to be well maintained. The room was in good shape, and the bed was comfortable. Our bathroom had not been updated (unlike another reviewer) but was clean and provided a good shower.

The restaurant next door apparently is quite good, but closed at 7:00 p.m. (before we arrived.) There are several other choices nearby, and the clerk was very helpful with a recommendation.

The location was convenient to the Mass turnpike. This is a budget motel, so expect thin towels and no frills. But you can't beat the value.

“Great one night stay, price was right!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

My family and I stayed one night. Room was clean and tidy. Bathroom was in working order and clean. The Hosts were great and friendly. It even had a small fridge, which I find lacking in most hotel rooms.

Huge plus - A small restaurant with EARLY hours and great food/service is on the same lot. This saved us time searching for a place to eat.

Only negative thing, the Continental breakfast is very small. I suggest going to the restaurant.

Definitely recommend this hotel.

“Ditto”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

By far the previous reviews were all very positive and I would surely agree. The front landscaping is very inviting though the building itself is not current shall I say? The roof is fairly new, the lot is los but our room was clear, Clean,CLEAN and was only$60. The bathroom had been completely redone but the towels are 'minimalist'. No hair dryer either. But all said and down, worth a repeat visit. The $$ saved bought a great breakfast E Annie's right next door.
