“Drug Guests”

I was not very happy with my stay at the Holliday Inn , in Somersville while I was there for 3 nights, there were Guests partying on the 7th floor of the Hotel which, is the smoking section of the Hotel. These Guests, were there for work on the Big dig and they knocked on other Guests room doors, yelled in the hallways, and when i got off the elevator, I distinctly smelt the smell of Marijuana.
In addition, the Hotel lost power and I was forced to carry my bags down 7 flight of stairs out the back and to the front lobby.
There also seemed to be a lack of Security checking the floors and Guests in the evening hours from 7 pm on!
When I stay at a Hotel I want to feel safe, I like it to be some what Quiet and peaceful, this was anything but!
The Swimming pool was also not available to me because, of construction but, this was not told to me before I book said room & Reservations.
The shuttle service was excellent because of Amean, he went above and beyond

Room Tip: Non smoking area had no issue's according to other Guests

Thank you for commenting on your recent stay at the Holiday Inn Somerville.

I am sorry that other guests behavior impacted your stay. The hotel does have security that patrols the building each evening and are very responsive to guest concerns. You did not mention reporting the issue to the hotel management or whether the team here was aware of your concerns. We would have addressed those concerns immediately.

We City did experience a loss of power on Wednesday February 8th which impacted the hotel for 45 minutes. During that time our emergency generator did operate one elevator, so it was not necessary for anyone to carry bags downt he stairs. I am sorry you had to do that.

As you mentioned the pool is closed for rennovations and will reopen on April 1, 2012. We have made this information available over all booking channels so our guests are aware. It is certainly not our intent to surprise our guest regarding the pool closure.

I appreciate your comments regarding Yasin one of our shuttle drivers. He is a wonderful assest to our hotel and guests. I will let him know that he was recognized with your posting.

“Worst internet ever!”

Internet is very important to me when I travel. This hotel had the worst I've experienced. It was so much worse than the old dial-up speeds we all remember so fondly. Speeds were often around 30 bit/s to 100 bit/s in my room, but often dropping to zero for extended periods. I talked to the desk and they were of no help whatsoever. It was slightly better in the lobby at around 200 bit/s with occasional bursts up to 500 bit/s, but with a lot of drops to zero! Folks, we are talking bits, not kbit/s, much less Mbit/s. I had to spend two evenings in the noisy lobby to get any work done at all. It was horrible. It took me two hours to do what would have taken a few minutes with broadband. They also closed to pool earlier than advertised, so my wife never got to use the pool.

Thank you for posting your experience on Trip Advisor. The traveling public today, rely on the reviews of other guests to influence their purchasing decisions.

I am sorry to hear that you had serious problems with the hotel's WIFI service. Your stay dates back to November so I am unable to track the problem you encountered. I know that we offer a 50 MB service to our guests and on the typical day we have over a 100 users on the system.

I am unaware of any issues with the system that could cause what you experienced. As of today the system seems to be perfroming above guest expectations.

My kids and I stayed at this hotel and really enjoyed the proximity to the train system and Boston. The staff was friendly and Helpful. They even have kids eat free in their restaurant!

“rat infested”

I was given a room with a big mouse already occupying it... when I reported it, they were almost demanding to see the rodent... after flipping some furniture we found not only the mouse but some mouse traps as well.... so they knew... finally I was given another room only after the room made its appearance
I was also told that I was going to be given a compensation in the form of refund that never materialized.
Bad attitude, worse service after the fact... I will stay away from Holiday Inn

My husband and I had to rent a hotel room for the night , Walking in the hotel was beautiful and the price for being New Years Eve was great . 139.00 for 2 non smoking and great view the bed was extra comfortable . I am a sleep depribed person who works 4 -16 hr shifts a week and trying to get some really great sleep is difficult .Although I wanted to stay in bed just a little longer check out was at 11 am which I think is yucky.

I think there should be a choice of 3 different check out times 10 12 or 2
