The house is beautiful and beautifully attired, yet comfortable and relaxing. Set on the rough granite of the Rockport coast, the lawn and porch offer solitude as boats sail and motor by. The breakfast was wonderful, many things from which to choose and a great granola. The heart of Rockport and Bearskin Neck, with the artists and quaint shops, good food, is near by. Hospitality could not be better! Our only regret was that the stay was too short!

The overall view of the property when we pulled in took our breath away! We were warmly greeted by Howie and the dog. Sue relayed a knowledgable review of the area and the home. They both made our visit very special. Our room was beautifully decorated and we enjoyed the relaxing breakfast on the porch. The granola was excellent! The view from the whole house was remarkable. Such a cozy setting!

This was our second time to stay at The Captain's House, and it was just as beautiful this year as it was last year. I recommend Room 1. It has a private sunroom that overlooks the ocean. We've stayed in bed and breakfast homes along the coast from MA to northern Maine for the past three years in September or October. We've never stayed anywhere that can compare with the ocean view from Captain's House.

Captain's House offers a panoramic view of the sea in a peaceful, private setting just minutes from downtown Rockport. This grand old house has an old world feeling with fresh decor and spotless, comfortable rooms. Breakfasts included an assortment of fresh foods with something for everyone. The hosts were attentive but unobtrusive. Bringing older children was easy since the placement of rooms made it easy to communicate even though they weren't adjoining.
