“B & B Right by the Sea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2009

We were on the last day of our tour of New England, we needed to be within an hour of Logan Airport and wanted a ground (First) Floor Room where we could bring in all our stuff to sort out our packing. Seafarer was recommended by another Innkeeper in town and was perfectly located. Outside the busy town but on the coast, plenty of residents in the area were out walking, a superb location. We were the only residents on the night we stayed and we were asked the time we would like breakfast which was great for us and quite late in the morning. The Inn was very comfortable and Delores and Stephen made us very welcome. Would stay again if in the area, however, I did notice that the property is currently on the market.

We have stayed here many times over the past ten years, The Seafarer is a real gem. The location is beautiful, on a quiet street, with wonderful views of the water. The inn itself is charming, very clean, with lovely and comfortable rooms. The innkeepers are delightful, and go out of their way to be helpful and informative. The breakfast of muffins, coffee cakes, breads, granola, yoghurt, fruit is fresh, plentiful and delicious. The area is rich in natural beauty and cultural attractions ( including an annual summer chamber music festival), as well as excellent restaurants and interesting shops. We would recommend The Seafarer most highly.i

“Peace and quiet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2008

My wife and I recently stayed at the Inn for our 10th wedding anniversary. It was a surprise get away. The owner, Dolores, was very helpful in putting our visit together. She recommended a local florist and made sure the roses I had delivered found their way to a prominent spot in our room. She gave us many tips on places to see and eat and was always around but not in an overbearing manner. The breakfast was a delicious european style and she joined us and several other guests on the enclosed porch for light conversation. The room was tastefully decorated with antiques and the view was second to none. Located in a very quiet and peaceful area of Rockport, there was more more foot and bicycle traffic than vehicles on the road. If you're not interested in muscle cars, arcades, loud music, and overcrowded beaches, Rockport and specifically the Seafarer Inn are the place to be!

“Worth it for the view”

The view from the Master Suite was excellent. Wonderful breeze comes through.
Do not stay in the twin bed rooms second floor. No air/no cross ventilation. HOT in the summer / no over head fan.
Inn keepers were very pleasant. Doloros was full of information for us.
All in all, the inn needs maintainence work, badly. Second floor guest bathroom needs a complete overall. The decor needs work also. Items look second-hand.
Would not stay here again, but again, the views are great.

“Really seaside and really lovely.”

We stayed at The Seafarer Inn in Rockport, MA (not Maine) for the weekend. Every room has a view of the ocean and we could hear the surf from our room. It is on a quiet street, with lovely homes, but still just a mile from bustling Rockport. There are 9 rooms - we stayed on the third floor in a big room with a private bath. Rooms are exceptionally clean and cozily decorated. The continental breakfast was delicious - fresh fruit, several kinds of bread, pastry, yogurt, cereal, cheese, coffee, juice, etc. We had beautiful weather and the innkeepers and guests happily chatted while sitting on the enormous front porch overlooking the water. We couldn't have been more pleased and the price was extremely reasonable! We definitely recommend it.
