“2 days stay in January”

Sometimes it's how a hotel reacts to a situation that's more important than a perfect visit.
let me explain.
I spent the first night here without any sleep because I was kept awake by a tapping noise. I made a gentleman called John aware of the problem. He listened, apologised and then offered to move me rooms immediately, to an upgraded room also.
I was impressed.
The breakfasts each morning were first class. Unfortunately I did not have dinner there, but I heard nothing but good things, so I would not hesitate to recommending dining there.
I found the hotel, the staff and indeed the town very charming.
Excellent job, keep up the good work !

Room Tip: Pay that little bit extra....... Go for a bigger room

“Resturant a Disapointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

We spent New Years Eve at the resturant. The food was just ok. What angered us was the way we were rushed out of the resturant for the next seating at 9PM. Most of us had 1 or 2 drinks at the most and were shocked at the $ 800.00 bill for 6 people. We did find some lovely resturants to eat at. Stay away from this one!

Thank you for your response. For New Years Eve we advertise 2 seatings a 6pm and a 9pm. We allow for 2 1/2 hours for the first seating which is typically ample time for the 5 course meal.

Perhaps a 9pm seating might be a better choice for you going forward so that you can take all the time that you need.

Again we appreciate your review.

“A New Year's 'hot' spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

P-town is a great place for New Year's Eve. There's something about driving to what seems to be the end of the earth to celebrate the end of a year, and the beginning of a new one. This year we bit the bullet and reserved three nights at Crowne Pointe, getting the room with a gas fireplace and jacuzz. It was actually an air tub, not a jacuzzi, and it was never clear whether our package included a porch or four-poster king-sized bed. (We got neither; it was a plain double bed --not even a queen, but comfortable just the same.) We also got a wet bar with fridge. It lacked a writing desk or a place to position your laptop, although the wi-fi was reliable. These old places don't have standardized rooms, so you have to be a little flexible.

We also didn't have the ability to control our heat, at least in the main building. We were roasting the first night and lost a lot of sleep. We actually flung the windows wide open, and at the end of December it took about 45 minutes to lower the temperature to something we could sleep through. We mentioned it, and the next night the temps were kept at a more reasonable level.

Our biggest problem was getting the room directly over the reception area, which pipes in music all day long. We asked them to turn it down, which they did. I suppose a guest room below could have been loud as well. We could hear our neighbors and hallway noise as well. So I'd suggest trying to book a room in one of the out buildings.

The best thing was breakfast -- a generous selection of pancakes, omelets, frittatas, etc. each morning, cooked to order. Decent coffee was in the lobby all day long, which we appreciated; muffins or cookies were usually on a plate as well. Cheese and wine/beer for a strictly timed social hour was held nightly. Service was pleasant.

Many restaurants are closed this time of year, but the one in-house is excellent, but that's for another review.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms near the lobby. Noise travels.

“Great romantic Getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

My wife and I traveled to Provincetown for a one night romantic getaway. This was in the of season so most businesses were closed. We really enjoyed our stay. The people at the service desk were very helpful, the room (with fireplace and whirlpool tab) was very nice, the free wine and cheese as well as access to spa sauna, steam-room and mineral pool (open until 5 pm)was a great bonus. The bed was super comfortable. The reason this is not a 5 star review are really minor. The breakfast was fine, but nothing special -- on par with an average diner. The bathroom fan was very loud and using the dimmer switch on the lights made them flicker. We would certainly recommend the place, and given the opportunity would come again.

“Perfect Place to Stay in PTown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Provincetown has always been in our hearts ever since we honeymooned in Cape Cod 10 years ago, so we decided to return for Christmas and we weren't disappointed. Yes PT is quiet at this time of the year but thats the best way to explore it properly and you get all the beaches pretty much to yourself.

The Crowne Pointe is perfectly located in PT and within walking distance for all the restaurants, beach and shops. We arrived fairly late after flying in to Boston and driving down and our welcome was ok. However the welcome from the day staff was charming and consistent throughout our stay.

We were in room 203 away from the main reception and I could only find one fault! The fridge in the bathroom hummed really loudly and was one of those constant noises that is really annoying when you are trying to to sleep. This however was a tiny little downside. The room was very large, with flat screen TV, Ipod docking station, heating, a small sofa, coffee machine, plenty of storage and bathrobes to use. The decor was olde worlde in keeping with the inn. The bed was huge and comfy and made up well every day. The bathroom was large and the shower had loads of room - as per other comments though the water pressure is poor.

Breakfast was brilliant - I cannot believe other people have complained about it. The cooked offering changed each day but was always really fresh and tasty. The vibrating lobsters given when placing the order made us laugh each day when they went off. The food was always tasty - in particular the bagels - they were certainly more tasty than most I've had. Fresh fruit was a real bonus too.

We ate on Christmas Eve and the food was superb - but the portions large so I struggled to finish all the courses. Dessert was delicious. The waiters that evening were really attentive without being in your face.

The whole property is charming - we only attended the wine night once but this was a lovely thought. They also have a computer and printer which was really helpful for checking in and printing boarding cards.

I would definately recommend this to anyone looking for a charming introduction to PT, we certainly would return here
