“Another Awesome time at the Black Pearl”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Once again, a big Thank you to Luis and Guy, we had a wonderful time in Provincetown for Halloween weekend. This time we brought the dog and our sister and had a wonderful time.
We always stay in the Ginger Bread cottage which is very nice and private. Our sister had the Lulwater room and enjoyed the deck and being close to us. Thank you both so much for such comfortable accomodations and a wonderful weekend and being so good to us and our sister. We'll see again soon !

Room Tip: We have a dog that likes to bark, the ginger bread cottage is by itself and the dog does not bother...

The owners went above and beyond to help me. My room was way cool! It is in a great location.

“needs a facelift”

Guy and Luis are very accommodating hosts, and the location is very convenient, but the room was in major need of an update. Every door that we opened hit a piece of furniture. The room was very poorly laid out and difficult to get around in. The bed was not very comfortable and in dire need of new sheets. The sheets were clean, but very thin and every time we moved even the slightest bit, the sheets came off of the bed which we found extremely annoying. It looks very nice from the outside, so we were very disappointed.

“Noisy bed, dirty, bugs, and run down”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

We stayed in the gingerbread cottage this fall 2011. We were really let down. We have stayed at about 8 different places in ptown and this was the worst experience. The inn keepers were very nice but they take no pride in their business. The cottage was extremely small and just awkward to move around with a rocking chair in the middle of the room which was constantly annoying. There was about 12 inches of space on each side of the bed which was difficult to get in and out of. The refigerator was right next to the bed so you had to sit in the bed to open it. The bed has this giant wood head and foot board that is responsible for all the noise. You could not sit or rollover without waking the other person up. I suggest throwing that thing out then at least I can climb on the bed from the bottom without scraping my legs on the foot board. The bathroom was dirty with mismatched old towels and spiderwebs everywhere. Each day we had to kill waterbugs in this place. The breakfast was a joke with some stale muffins from stop and shop and cheap juice and coffee. Getting our car out was also annoying because only one of the innkeepers knew how to drive and if he was there he may not of had the keys to the other cars. THe walkways were overgrown with shrubs hitting you in the face and mossy bricks that were very slippery. I suggest staying at somerset house which is just next door.

We are very disappointed at this review the guests were asked on many occasions how there stay is and we got the same answer good.
Fortunately for us most of our reviews are good and we take pride in knowing that.

We regret that we did not have the opportunity to address and resolve your concerns while you were here the three days in the cottage. We may have been something we could have done if they were so unhappy. We would have given them the full refund back and would have been free to go else where but again Sorry they were not happy and you can not please everyone and this review is a perfect example of that.

We are very professional and sincere inn keepers, who pride ourselves for making our B & B a home, away from home.

We genuinely appreciate our repeat guests, enjoying Provincetown with us year after year. We can't wait to welcome our new guests in the years to come.

Kind regards,

Guy & Luis

“relaxing retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

My husband and I had a pleasant stay at this inn. We were welcomed and then left alone for our retreat away from it all. We had a nice, private room that was full of windows to let in the amazing light that is signature in Provincetown. We got to meet the dogs on the property that were well-behaved, enjoyed interacting with guests and were a nice addition to our stay. We needed a quite place to just rest and be together. This is what we found at the Black Pearl. We had a completely comfortable bed, plenty of extra blankets since one night was cool and the other was warm (normal N.E./Cape September!). It was perfect! The location is near enough the action without being disruptive with noise. It was a memory we'll treasure a long time!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Turquoise room and have not stayed in other rooms yet. The room was bright, clean a...
