“Peaceful location ,clean ,friendly accomodation.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We stayed one Saturday night at the end of September.Provincetown was fairly quiet, but an interesting place. Our room was on the top floor,it was large and clean, with two beds, although not very modern, it had everything we needed and great views. Also it was a peaceful area with no other properties too close. There was an interesting shower screen which made it difficult to reach to get the plug into the bath, however this is not the first time New England plumbing has baffled me.We liked Chateau provincetown, it seems to fit into the quirky old fahioned style of Cape Cod.Their prices were reasonable compared to some other places .There is a bit of a walk down to the main street, but the roads aren't too steep,It was so quiet we could have driven down closer to the town centre in the evening, possibly not in the summer. The staff are friendly ,and breakfast was muffins, pastries ,fruit, juices and hot drinks, which you can take to your room.It was served in the reception seating area when we went, but I think it was because the hotel was fairly quiet and was served in another area,in the busy season. The pool area looked pleasant, and beaches were a few minutes drive away.We enjoyed our brief stay, but would one day like to return for a longer stay.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms may have better views.

“A Family Tradition...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

August 2011 was the 5th year my partner and I took our kids to Chateau Provincetown. We will come back every summer until our kids get tired of it. PTown in the summer can be ridiculously expensive for a family of 4, and we found this gem back in 2007 when we first started taking our kids to the Cape. The rooms are "beachy" looking and very clean and well maintained. A bit small, but not a problem at all. Each room has a fridge, a coffee maker, nice enough TV, and more than adequate bathroom with tub. All rooms open out to a nice patio-style walkway with tables and chairs set up. All rooms are non-smoking, but there are ashtrays that seem to magically get emptied. The grounds are AMAZING! Every summer we actually "steal" garden ideas that we take home to our own yard, and year after year we see the same gardener/groundskeeper that remembers us and welcomes us every year. There is a HUGE swimming pool with a very spacious patio surrounding it, and every bit of the pool area is rich with flowers. Located at the very tip of the Cape, the Chateau delivers a peaceful place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of Commercial Street. 4 nights for 4 adults (our kids are technically grown!) in high season hovers around $1000.00 which is a great deal at this time of the year. With so much to do in Provincetown the room doesn't have to be great, but when we stay at the Chateau we are just as happy to stay on site and order takeout, and just enjoy the scenery, the pool, and the gorgeous landscaping. Each year we are treated to fine customer service with everybody from the check-in to housekeeping making our stay enjoyable. We love the seclusion, the pristine grounds, and the welcoming mood of this place...amidst all of the wonderful treats that Provincetown has for families. We look forward to our next trip in 2012...

Room Tip: There is a huge fridge in the room so be sure to bring snacks for the room. During the summer the g...

“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

My husband and I stayed in this hotel mid September for 3 nights. It was a good value, especially compared with other hotels and Inns. The hotel could use an update when it comes to the rooms, but other than that it was very clean and we didn't spend that much time sitting in our room, so it didn't really bother us too much. The hotel is a little walk from the town, which was very enjoyable , especially since we happened to have great weather. Being away from all the action, it was very quiet . The pool was great, staff really friendly. At the bottom of the hill there is a nice bike shop/rental place and we rented bikes one day and biked all over P-town which was wonderful. I would highly recommend the hotel , if you want something not too expensive ( as most hotels in P-town are) , a 10 min walk away from the town and quite at night.

“Nice place rooms need some updating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

The outside of hotel gardens & pool area are beautiful. The rooms are very clean however they have a musty smell. The rooms can use an update, the decor is very old. Over all I would recommend this hotel
