Long point is a geological formation that forms a sort of arm around Provincetown harbor. For the visitor it is popular because it is a secluded beach, reached by boat ferry or by a somewhat dangerous walk across a breakwater. However you get there, it is lovely; the water is warm, shallow and calm. Remember that there are no amenities and no shade. The guys who run the ferry have been known to miss a pick up, so come well provisioned. Some nudity, but it's a long track of land and you can find privacy. Full of history; ask the rangers at the Provincelands Visitor center.
