“PERFECT place to stay!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

I just returned from a wonderful weekend at Dyer's Beach House Dyer's is in the heart of Provincetown and a slip of paradise on the beach. My boyfriend and I stayed in Room #4 and we can't say enough about the deck overlooking the beautiful bay. I am a 5' 6" female and he is a strapping 6'4" man and we had plenty of space in the room. Parking is available at Dyers and everything is within walking distance. The parking lot is tight so don't bring a big SUV or big truck - don't let this deter you because ALL PARKING is tight in P'Town and this is in no way a downfall of Dyer's because we were able to get in and out of the parking lot. The room was clean and towels were provided. The only suggestion I would make is to maybe offer some toiletries - small bottles of shampoo, etc - and that is only a suggestion and not needed to make this room comfortable. Great, fab job!

Room Tip: Room #4 has a fanstatic view of Pilgrim Monument!

“Clean, Basic Rooms with a Million Dollar View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

This was my first visit to Dyer’s after many years of vacationing in Ptown. Staying at this inn is all about the view of the harbor. The sea breeze blows in in the evenings and you hear the gentle waves all night. It’s reasonably priced and the staff was a pleasure to deal with.

The layout of the motel is two rooms on the second floor each with private balconies. We stayed in one of these rooms. The first floor has three rooms with a shared deck of which our friends stayed in one of these. We found ourselves more on our friends’ shared deck because it was a more social setting and had lounge chairs to lay out in the sun. The private upper floor balconies are smaller and only have adirondack chairs. We had many good times mingling with the other guests out there in the evenings. Houseboy David was friendly, pleasant and attentive. He does a spectacular job with the flowers and grounds! There is parking. The rooms themselves are basic, no frills – again it’s all about the water views. But they are clean and roomy. The beds might need replacing, they are a bit dated. The bathrooms were a bit tight. These are minor things we noticed but we were comfortable throughout our stay. The only room I’d avoid was the middle room on the first floor because it has no windows which may get a bit claustrophobic. The windows and views from our room allowed plenty of sunlight and fresh air in. The outside decks are the highlight of staying here and provide breath taking views of Provincetown Harbor. Our room had a large refrigerator which held plenty. Also, remember this is a motel not a bed and breakfast so no complimentary breakfast is served int he morning.

We tend to like to be right in the action on Commercial Street. The motel is set off to the back and offers real privacy and quiet from Commercial. Which is good and bad depending on your preference. Sometimes we felt a little detached from all the action but it was a nice change of pace. We’d go back again and recommend anyone who loves to be right on the water to stay at Dyers!

“Not very good”

This was our first visit to Province Town and we decided to stay at this particular residence due to the reviews on Trip Advisor. We had been travelling thorughout New England therefore we had the usual amount of luggage which comes with this amount of travelling. This proved to be be problematic when we got to our room which had very limited space due to there being a double bed and a single bed in the same room, the suitcases had to be placed on the single bed. The only hanging space was a small hanging rail atached to the wall, needless we did not unpack (Don't be mislead by the cleverly photographed rooms) luckily we only stayed for two nights shipping out earlier than planned. One thing of note was that there was a heavy duty plastic matress cover, which you could hear quite clearly when you sat or moved on the bed. If the noise (plastic) didn't wake you, you'd wake up very hot and sweaty during the night anyway. We put on the air conditioning but this was far too noisy. The room itself was clean just not big enough for our purposes. It would no doubt be ok if you were only travelling locally, but for the purposes of our trip from the UK it was just not suitable. The guy who looked after the premises was only there until midday, the times we did see him he was helpful. If you had an issue after midday there just seemed no way you would be able to speak to anyone if you had a problem. We have travelled extensively throughout the US in the past and on this trip stayed in a variety of accommodations, all of which were excellent, except the Dyer's Beach. We cannot recommend this establishment.

I fear that this guest was not comfortable in the surroundings of Provincetown. All of our other reviews are fabulous. Dyer's Beach House offers 5 rooms, all the same. All rooms offer oceanside decks, great space, two beds per room, air, cable tv.dvd, parking and a private entrance. A room photo has been added to this listing so that our guests can see the rooms we offer.

“Little Piece of Heaven in downtown Provincetown.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2010

Dyer's Beach House is in the perfect location in the middle of downtown Provincetown and right on the water. Our room opened onto a shared balcony looking over the harbour. We did not need our car at all. Everything is within walking distance - many, many restaurants, galleries, interesting shops. Our room was fresh and very clean. Rooms were cleaned promptly and efficiently as soon as we left for breakfast. We absolutely loved our accomodations and Provincetown in general. Our only recommendations to the owners would be to provide more comfortable beds. The beds looked new and very clean but were very uncomfortable. One other small enhancement would be to provide shampoo, cream rinse and a higher quality of bar soap. The uncomfortable beds and the lack of toiletries let down an otherwise 10 out of 10 hotel.

“Best location in P-Town”

We spent five nights at Dyers Beach House 'off-season' and were very lucky with fabulous weather. The beach house is in an excellent location in the West End, close enough to the centre to be there in a flash, but far enough outside to be able to escape the hussle and bussle of the place. The room was surprisingly big and very clean, if a bit old-fashioned. What truly made it was the fact we had a deck and view of the sea at all times which made for good relaxation. We'd recommend hiring bikes and getting out to the National SeaShore...we loved the ride and Race Point beach. The beach house was also a great location for good breakfasts - Cafe Heaven for delicious granola and fruit and Enzo for super Eggs Benedict.
