Billed for 2 nights prior to the trip, which we thought was a deal. The place was tackily decorated, filthy, and lacked hospitality. Upon arriving, we eagerly asked for suggestions for places to visit and got a curt response to check the magazines downstairs! There was continental breakfast served on the first day but not on the second day. Anyway, on our way out, we tidied up the place (stripped the linens, and put them with our wet towels on the bathroom floor), and left the keys downstairs as owner was nowhere to be found. Later that day, we got a call from him saying that our 3-year old dog, who is toilet-trained, peed all over the room, ruined the carpet, etc. and that he was charging us extra for damages! Totally untrue as our dog has been with us all the time and is well-behaved. A cheap shot for trying to extract more money for hi so-called "affordable comfort." The additional charge for this allegation was the equivalent of our 2-night stay! These are desperate times indeed!

The Credit Card Processing statements verify a charge to the writer(s) on Sept 28 at 3:05 pm; the date of the writer(s) arrival with dog. On October 4, 2010, the same amount was returned to the same credit card as the original charge. Verifiable by Bank Statement. On that same day, October 4 at 7:44 pm we did recharge the writer(s) credit card for the exact amount of the original charge which was taken from our Bank Account.
Ther were no extra charges for any possible pet problem. We only wanted the original Guestroom charge including Mass and PTown room tax. We did not question how or why the orignal charge was returned.
We do apoligize if we mistakingly identified the soiled area, on the carpet and padding beneath, as dog urine. We made this assumption by the odor coming from the carpet and padding; also the very wet nature of the "spill," which would indicate a very recent "spill."
We accept the dog's owner statement that the dog was "toilet trained," which we believe means "house broken."
We now wonder the source of the "spillage" found directly in front of the Guestroom's private bathroom. We regret that our possible mistake would elicit such possible comments. We now wonder further if the ageless adage might possibly apply: "Thou dost protest too much."
