“Mostly positive visit”

We stayed at the Crown for New Year's weekend. We loved the room. It was large and comfortable with a fireplace, a jacuzzi, and a terrace overlooking the the beach. The only problem we had with the room was that there was not enough light in the bathroom and there was no heat in the bathroom. Granted, most of the business is in warmer weather, so maybe that is not a priority for them. The location is perfect-- right in the center of town. We were pleasantly surprised to find many restaurants and stores to be open. We went downstairs to the Central House for dinner on New Year's eve. There was a fixe-prixe menu which was not a bad deal. We had very nice wine and a decent dinner. Our waiter, Chris was more than helpful and entertaining. That evening after dinner, we went back to our room to relax before the party started in the Paramount. As soon as the music started, our walls and floor shook and it sounded as if the DJ was in our room. Luckily, there was only a party on that one night. The rest of the stay was pleasant. The two Ricks behind the reception desk were absolutely wonderful-- could not do enough for us.

Room Tip: The superior rooms overlook the beach, but are right over the night club and get noisy at night.

“Bay view room”

Great hotel with location and staff. Being physically challenge I thought it was going to be a hassle. The staff proved me wrong. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and my needs were met. The maintenance man did above and beyond to make sure I was at ease in the room and bath area. The housekeeping staff made sure that I had everything was within my reach. The front desk had been coordinating my needs with my partner so on arrival there was no hold ups. The room itself was awesome. I had a view of the bay and beach from our balcony. If needed I could view it all from the room without going out side. The pool deck and beachbwas right below our room. Even at might when the clubs in the hotel were operating, I heard little noise in the room. I'm eager to book my next visit with them again. My partner had no complaints and it made his trip relaxing as well. Thanks Crown and Anchor for an awesome stay!!

Room Tip: Bay view balcony room

“We did not like this”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

The experience was a mixed bag at the Crown and Anchor. The restaurant manager, Peter, was very nice and hospitable. He seemed to have an extensive knowledge of wines.
However, our waitress, Rachel, was one of the rudiest people I have ever met. When asking her about several menu items, she told me to "Hurry up, I dont have all day." We could not believe she said that to us. We need to ask questions, to decide what to order. Also, I overheard complaining about other servers and someone who did not tip her well.
Overall, the food was well prepared and quite good. The prices were fair and the servings were moderate.
Later, we went into some of the clubs at crown and anchor. The drinks were horribly overpriced. We will not come back to this place.

“Beautiful Hotel - Excellent Location”

The Crown and Anchor is a lovely hotel located in the heart of Provincetown - within walking distance of everything. We stayed on the second floor in room #201 which has a HUGE balcony over looking the charming bustle of Commercial Street. Great for people watching. Very spacious and clean. Beautiful fireplace and sitting area. I would love to stay here again!

“Clean and friendly but forget about sleeping...”

My husband and I decided on a short getaway to the Cape. We have been to Provincetown many times and liked it but had never stayed at the Crown & Anchor before. One night we went to the Goddesses of Illusion show in the cabaret room, which was a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend that.
Our room was very nice, spacious, clean, and with a balcony that overlooks the pool/beach. We never got to the pool but it always looked clean and the pool area well tended. The only problem turned out to be the nightclub that was situated DIRECTLY under our room. Keep in mind this was not a cheap room , and we were not told in advance about it. I can tolerate some level of noise but with the bass turned up on the speakers below us all the way to the max setting, everything in the room vibrated until 12:30 or later each of the 3 nights we were there. If you like to hear the constant thrumping of bass till very late at night this is the place for you but otherwise, stay somewhere else.
