“Frayed Bargain”

Stayed here 2 nights while house-hunting in Plymouth. The good: Bed very comfortable with nice linens. $59.00 per night on Priceline.com. Quiet, safe neighborhood. Bar restaurant had good selection. Perroni on draft! Everyone very friendly. Lots of parking and several nice restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance. The bad: Place is generally run down. Badly in need of new paint, carpets and furniture. Surprised that Radisson allows this poorly kept property to bear its name, it's that bad.
If all you need is a comfy bed and a decent bar/restaurant in a good location at a good price, it's worth a look. Just don't expect typical Radisson (or even Motel 8) quality of furnishing or facilities.

“I would say nothing memorable but...”

The room was average. The location was the best in Plymouth and I'm thinking this is the nicest hotel in Plymouth. Treated very rudly by the front desk on multiple occasions, and that is what is memorable about this hotel, which was also my first Radisson experience. There would have been a pretty view of Plymouth Harbor if the window was clear enough to see through :)

Room Tip: A few of the rooms have balconies, maybe ask for one when booking.

“A Good Choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We stayed between Christmas and New Year's and found the location of this hotel to be perfect for walking all around historical downtown Plymouth. Although the hotel shows signs of wear, don't let appearances dissuade you. The staff is friendly and helpful. The service staff was ever present, but inconspicuous. The lobby is tastefully decorated, however the furniture shows evidence of wear. We didn't eat in the restaurant or the pub, but both looked inviting. We heard that the pub is a good place to meet for an afternoon cocktail. The hotel is surrounded by many good restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All are within easy walking distance. We didn't use the pool, but it seemed to be active with children and it appeared to be quite nice. There were many families there during our stay, including people attending a wedding. Our room was large with a harbor view. We added a small refrigerator which is available upon request. This is a good addition if you're staying long enough to want snacks or cold drinks in your room. The room was nicely decorated. Ours wasn't a sleep number bed, but it was a king sized bed, quite comfortable with excellent pillows. The housekeeping staff was remarkable. Everything was cleaned daily to perfection. The room was fully equipped with amenities like ironing board, hairdryer, free wireless. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and water pressure in the shower was strong. The heating system was a bit loud but never woke us up. It kept the room very comfy. In all, a great choice and we'd happily return.

Room Tip: Harbor view was nice. No noise from the pool. View was expansive.

“It is what it is!”

Spent 4 nights here on business. It was the 6th time I've stayed here in the past 5 years and not a lot has changed. The hotel is older style especially for a Radisson so don't expect anything modern. Service has always been good and breakfast is excellent and cheap in the dining room. The bar is good for a drink and there are free nibbles. I've always stayed here in winter so it's never that busy although the hotel always seems to be hosting some sort of convention.
The rooms are a good size but I find them a bit dark for my liking. It was good to see new TV's and heaters had been installed since my last visit.
For those who want a decent meal walk across the front carpark to Patrizia Italy Trattoria. The food is fantastic and the best I've found in Plymouth.

Room Tip: I always ask for a room facing outside and not towards the indoor pool.

“No complaints”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

The purpose of our trip was to see some family in the Plymouth area during a holiday trip to Boston.

We booked through Priceline and got a great deal on the room. Unfortunately, some unforeseen circumstances caused us to not be able to make our planned reservation. As our room was booked through Priceline, I figured the room was lost. However, a call to see if there was anything to be done about changing our non-changeable reservation was met with a can-do attitude from the reservations agent who happily changed our night by a day.

We arrived about two hours before the advised check-in. The front desk agent was able to check us in with no problems. The room was clean and spacious. While I've seen more outstanding hotel rooms, I've certainly seen a lot worse. The room was comfortable and spacious, especially if we were staying longer and planning to spread out a bit. We were on the 3rd floor. If you want a water view, try to get a room on the 4th. We could just see some bits of blue, but one more floor would definitely help.

The beds are a bit firm and I didn't find that adjusting the sleep number on the bed did too much to help.

The bathroom looks as if it had recently been redone, with black granite counters. The drain in the shower wasn't quite up to snuff and the shower dial was starting to fall apart. However, the bathroom was acceptable.

The hotel is quite spacious. There are lots of seating nooks and areas to relax. The décor is a bit dated, with that pseudo-colonial look that grandparents would appreciate. The pool area is very nice. I didn't bring a swimsuit, but I did go down to check it out. If possible, bring a swimsuit. The pool area is kept warm, so it would be a nice place to spend some time.

The location is great. It's located in between the harbour and it's stretch of restaurants, as well as the historical sites of the Mayflower II and Plymouth Rock, and Main Street, with even more restaurants and shops.

I stayed in another Radisson earlier this year and this hotel, while comparable, is a better property and somewhere I could see myself staying for longer than one night.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a decent room for not a lot of money. Admittedly, we were there during a low point in travel to the town (it felt like we had the hotel to ourselves), so it may not always be as cheap. The location is great and the hotel, while not out of this world, is comfortable and well-appointed.

Room Tip: Try to get one on the top floor if you want a water view or a room overlooking the pool.
