Stayed here Memorial Day weekend 05/25-05/27 2012.
Campsite:
We stayed at camp site 16, which was a no hookup tent site. It was a large site, big enough to fit our minivan, picnic table, and 15x16 tent. The site was nice and flat. Your privacy all depends on how you and the other campers orient the tent and supplies. Our site was on a sort of small cul-de-sac with a hill behind us. The trash bins, water/sink, bathrooms were all about a 30 second walk ... very convenient. It was about a 5 minute walk to get to the beach, which was also very convenient. The fire pit was great, with plenty of sand around it. The tree on the site had a large carpenter ant colony, but they didn't really bother us too much, we just kept the tent zipped up and they never got inside.
Campgrounds:
The office/store is packed with everything you'll need if you forgot something. Plenty of ice ($2/bag) and wood ($6/bundle). The rec hall had some videos games, a pool table, an air-hockey table and a bar&grille. There is also a nice icecream walk up window on your way back from the beach. The beach is nice, offering a raft for the older kids and shallow areas for the younger ones. Everything seemed well kept and clean. We walked down to the beach and playground early one morning and saw the staff literally raking the beach clean. It was 7.5 minutes per quarter for the showers ... that is way less than I pay at home with my old beater of a furnace. Also, the showers were HOT ... I had to turn mine way down because it was so hot.
Activities:
The pots and pans parade was fun for the kids. The dance was hilarious. Actually had a great DJ and good tunes. People ranged from toddlers to high schoolers dancing and having a blast. The campground is only 10 minutes from the Plymouth downtown area so you can see all the sites. We did breakfast at Cornerstone Cafe, Mayflower II, and Plymouth Plantation on Sunday.
Conclusion:
We really enjoyed it here. The quiet hours (10pm-7am) are a good because it keeps the noise down so the young ones can sleep. We got billed extra for kids (didn't realize it when we booked), but then they saw us in the store and because our kids were under 5, they gave us the refund which we put as a credit for wood/ice/supplies/etc. The staff were extremely friendly to us.
We did have to call it quits a day early because our daughter is only 7 months and the tent camping was a bit too adventurous for now. My 2.5 year old son absolutely loved it thought. We'll do it again, just when she gets a bit older.
