“quaint, with friendly and helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I'd go back to that wonderful place in a flash...loved our balcony (we had room #1) where we could have a glass of wine while relaxing and talk about the other great day we had spent. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and accomodating. The rooms might be on the small side, you have to share the bathroom with 2 other rooms or so, but that didn't matter to my friend and I. The bed was very comfy and the air conditioning much appreciated.
If you have problems with steep stairs though, refrain, and beware of having to take a huge piece of luggage up to the 1st or second floor!
I have no complaints about this place, none! Loved it.

“WOW, Lory is so nice”

We checked it and two hours later family issues made us leave. Lory not only credited the room but drove me to the ferry dock.

“An adorable Victorian Hotel”

We booked 2 nights at the Nashua House Hotel so that we could spend 2 full days on Marthas Vineyard. The hotel was a delight and the rooms looked just like the pictures on the website. The room was small but cozy and comfy.

Lory, the manager was so friendly and helpful. I can't thank her enough. We loved the goody basket.

The hotel is also easily accessible by bus from Vineyard Haven ( we came off season so no ferry service to/from Oak Bluffs). It had the added bonus of being only 44 steps( Yes, I counted!) from the Offshore Brewing Company.

“Thanksgiving Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

Location is very convenient. Rooms and bathrooms are Immaculately clean. Room 1 is roomy. Bottled water and snacks are complimentary. Towels and toiletries are replaced frequently. For the cost of $69 per night is reasonable accommodation in Martha's Vineyard. With cable and internet service. My suggestion is to have at least a microwave and a small refrigerator in the reception area. Off season visit thus majority of the establishments and attractions are closed. Places to eat that are great and reasonably priced which are opened for the season are: Linda Jean's (breakfast), O-Sun Asian Restaurant, Thai cuisine, Menemsha market owned by the Larsen's (clam chowder, lobster, a slab of swordfish). Sharky's Cantina served Mexican cuisine that sucks!!! We had some bite of sweets in Mudrick's Fudge at Edgartown, a little pricey yet great. We bought 3 days pass for $15 valid from Nov. 21 til Nov. 24. Too bad no bus service during Thanksgiving Day when it was sunny compared to previous days which were not conducive to visit upper island town because of bad weather either rainy or windy. As a whole, we still enjoyed the visit to Martha's Vineyard.

Room Tip: Conveniently located to bus stop where MVTA picks up and drops off passengers. Choose room number 1...

“Ideal location and Charm galore”

Right in the heart of it all. Walking distance to everythin that is wonderful about Martha's Vineyard! No car necessary!
Walk to the beach, or the bus stop with all island access.
Walk to several local restaurants, including one that is an annual stop for the president!
Do NOT miss seeing the Tabernacle and the campground. Bring your camera to capture the Victorian beauty.
Sadly, this hotel is not for everyone, the immaculate bathrooms are all shared, and there are stairs to climb.

Room Tip: ask for an ocean view!
