“A perfect weekend at a perfect guest house!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

I stayed here at the Attleboro Guest House over Columbus Day weekend and it was wonderful!! The guest house is located a few blocks from the Oak Bluff ferry port, in the center of town, which is great if you brought your own bike and didn’t want to walk far. A clean room with a door to the balcony, which overlooked the harbor. The owner was a very nice lady who loaned me a lock and key for my bike. The feel of the house was like going to grandma's house. If you want a quaint experience of Martha's Vineyard, you couldn't ask for anything more.

Room Tip: Room #9 had balcony off the room which nice views of the harbour.

“Loved it, great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

The charming old house is located right in the middle of town overlooking the harbour. Had a private porch with my room - very nice! Shared bathrooms, but that's no problem. Very nice and pleasant lady who runs the house. Had a great stay for a good price right - will go back.

“Beautiful Views, Friendly Atmosphere, Rustic & Basic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2011

No, it ain't the Ritz. That being said, the Attleboro House is a stone's throw away from the center of Oaks Bluffs, has great views over the harbor, is friendly and very adequate. The prices are very reasonable, and they do not require a 2+ night stay like so many others. If you are looking for a place to relax & crash in a laid back atmosphere after your day of adventures, this is it. Rustic, for sure, but clean and very adequate.

“Old Inn With Lots Of Charm”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2008

This is a very old family friendly inn with lots of charm, located just across the street from Nancy's Restaurant in Oak Bluffs. We stayed on the third floor (Room 5) facing the harbor. The room was very tiny with an old queen bed that took up most of the room. The room had a window-pane door that opened up to a balcony (which you can't sit or walk on) to a beautiful view of the harbor. There is no a/c (there is a fan in the room) and no t.v. (not that you'd need t.v. with the beautiful ocean view but for those who can't go without it there is a t.v. in the main living room of the inn). The bathrooms are old looking, but kept clean, and they were always running out of toilet paper and hand towels. Also, if the bathroom on your floor is occupied (which ours was most of the time) you can always use one of the other many bathrooms throughout the inn. The inn provided shower towels (no beach towels provided) and face cloths, but they smelled a little bit like mildew (like they had been left wet in the washing machine for too long). The matress was clean but broken down and I'm happy to say no bed bugs, which was a big worry of mine. However, I suggest that you bring your own towels, sheets, pillows & cases if you're going to stay more than a weekend. There is a great wrap around porch on the main level of the house with a dozen rocking chairs for guests to sit on and enjoy the view at any time of the day or night. You can also bring a bike and lock it up on the porch. The only problem we had at the inn was a group of college girls (in the room next to ours) who smoked all day & night in their room. The smell reaked through the entire second & third floors and the innkeeper ignored it - even though it's clearly posted that it is a non-smoking establishment. My problem wasn't what they were smoking, but the fact that they were smoking in their room. The inn is very, very old with very old fire alarms (and who knows if they even work), and I didn't want to get stuck on the third floor during a fire with no fire escape ladders! The bottom line is, the price is great if you can put up with a few non-comforts of home and the possibility of rowdy rule-breaking college kids. The innkeeper is a very nice old lady. I'd certainly recommend the inn despite a few things that bugged me personally. We definately plan on going back again next season 2009.

“Attleboro House-great view of harbor”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2006

This is a very old Bed & Breakfast. But , no breakfast. I stayed on the second floor where we had to share bathrooms. The bathrooms were clean. The room was clean and simple. The bed was comfortable. This was my first time staying at a Bed & Breakfast so I wasn't sure what to expect. There is a wraparound porch, so we sat outside our room on the rocking chairs that were provided and played cards on the table. The view is fabulous, you are directly across the street from the harbor. Great location, close to everything, no need for a vehicle.
