“Relaxing & Reliable... When We Needed It Most!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Visited my sister who lives in Jamaica Plains near Boston. This is a little far but conveniently close to major highway so Boston is within 15-20 min drive if there is not a lot of traffic. Driving locally to Jamaica Plains would've been much longer. Don't let the outside of the hotel fool you.... it's been beautifully and newly renovated with modern ammenities inside with very friendly staff. We did not expect a surprising snow storm to pass but we lucked out and never lost heat or electricity in comparison to all the neighboring towns. In fact, we even spent the day with the kids in the nicely heated pool. There was plenty of great resturants nearby and we even managed to drive the 15-20 min south to the premium outlets to buy winter gear we forgot to pack. Breakfast cafe in the lobby was quite expensive and overpriced $8 for an english mcmuffin (w/ poach egg/haverty cheese/spinach/canadian bacon) and no coffee included. But I would say they had a very nice breakfast for the kids $6 which included full size waffle/fruits/OJ. Nevertheless, we would definitely come back again... but eat at IHOP nearby. We paid half the price than if we would pay staying at a closer (less updated) hotel in the city of Boston ($119 vs $299)...so it's all worth the trip as long as you enjoy the drive. We'd rather save the $$ and spend it on the great shopping and dining instead!

“Stumped on how to rate this hotel.”

I would most likely rate this hotel a 3-1/2 if that was an available option. There were some things that were GREAT and for us a big thing that wasn't so great.

First the good...
LOCATION: Being in town for the Patriots/Cowboys game, we were looking for hotel close to Gillette Stadium. Without game traffic, it is only about 10 minutes from the stadium. Post game traffic, it took about an hour to get back. The hotel is right off Route 1, with quick access to both Interstates 95 and 495. There are also tons of stores and restaurants all along Route 1.
STAFF: Extremely friendly and welcoming. Check in was very quick.
OVERALL: The hotel / room was very clean. I'm not sure if it was, but it also had a look of being recently renovated. It was very quiet. You couldn't hear people going up and down the hallways, or through the walls. Our room was on the first floor and had a walk out patio / sitting area into the Garden. It was very nice. All the rooms on the second floor in that area had a balcony overlooking the Garden. We did not use it, but did walk by the pool area. It appeared nice. Although a little small, the pool was a lap pool and there was a hot tub. We did not go, but there is a restaurant in the lobby, and snacks / beverages are available for purchase in the lobby as well. I believe they also had free coffee. Our room was a little on the small side, but it had a king size bed (unlike a lot of hotels in the area), a sitting area, and a desk. There were some prior reviews complaining about the towels. They are a little on the thinner side (a preference for me) but looked brand new. There was a tiny, mini fridge in our room, but I do not know if they are available in all rooms. There was free Wi-Fi.

The bad (for us)...
THE BED! It was horrible. The mattress was thin and almost too soft (a matter of preference). We slept horribly. The sheets were a little scratchy, the top sheet and blanket too small for the bed,and the pillows, even though they left 5, were all WAY to thin. For us sleep quality is one of the biggest factors in a hotel. It was the only downfall for me,but it was a big one.

I would try this hotel again, but probably not for more than a night.

“Nice property and very friendly staff”

We spent a weekend here and even though there were a sports team and a wedding party here on the same weekend, we each had a great night's sleep. We enjoyed taking our breakfast to the outside courtyard area. The staff was always helpful with any questions we had. Only complaints would be channels on the tv that would black out and no wireless in the guest rooms.

“Nice staff very clean good service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

I stayed here for one night and there is nothing to complain about. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was very clean. I had a late night snack in the lobby food area and it was very good. I recommend this hotel.

“Fantastic”

I took my girlfriend to Boston for her birthday and, after seeing the over-inflated hotel prices in the city, we decided to stay outside. What a choice!

The Courtyard was not too expensive and what we got was suprising. The woman who greeted us wished my girlfriend Happy Birthday right away and upgraded us to a suite. We couldn't have been happier. The room was beautiful and clean: lots of space. The bathroom was clean, there was hookup for your laptop, and the bed was really comfortable.

The location was great: it was about a five minute drive to Patriots Place (she wanted to watch training camp) and the shopping/restaurants that are there, and about a 20 minute drive (if there's heavy traffic) to downtown Boston. You're actually SAVING money on parking if you commute in. It was perfect: What a stay.
