OK- the basics of the hotel are fine- the rooms are clean and comfortable, the restaurant is exactly what you'd expect of a hotel restaurant.

But- the atrium area is leaking, badly. The entire roof has already been reinforced at least once and by the looks of things, not well. The leaking is spreading to a small alcove near the lobby- they have towels wrapped around the pillars to soak up the water streaming in. I can't imagine that it's going to pass it's health inspection next time- there has to be mold everywhere.

The best thing for this place would be to completely tear it down and start all over again.

We stayed here because of the pool and free WIFI in the rooms. The indoor pool is in a glass atrium that was so cold you had to wear a winter coat to sit by the pool. I was really surprised to see anyone in the pool. The atrium had leaks, mold, mildew and looked like it could come crashing down at any time. The hotel had strategically placed towels all around to catch the leaks from the ceilings. The place really needs to be leveled and rebuilt. On a positive note...everone that works there was really nice and really helpful. Check-in was quick and friendly. Bartender was really nice.

We were doing a craft show in Northampton and needed a place for two nights. We got a room on Priceline for $50 and it was very nice. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the people at the front desk were helpful in recommending places to eat. There is a restaurant in the hotel which looked good although we didn't try it. There was also an indoor pool and the location was great, only a 5 minute drive to the center of Northampton.

I'm writing to laud the entire staff at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center for the way they performed during the late October snowstorm that resulted in region wide power losses and put so many people in peril.
The day after the storm, I called the hotel seeking accomodations for my elderly parents who were without power in their home and in need of warm and safe surroundings.
At the height of the crisis, the staff was very efficient in locating one of the last remaining rooms.....my parents were thrilled, and because I had shared their plight when calling, management was there to greet them warmly as they checked in.
Over the four days of their stay, everything went like clockwork; the room was more than adequate,and the staff to a one, went out of their way to openly acknowledge and greet them each day....from the front desk,to the restaurant, everyone (at a time of heightened anxiety),performed their jobs admirably and in a manner that made all of the Inn's guests feel truly welcomed and self assured.
As heat returned to their home after four days in the hotel,they checked out with a big smile and a thank you for all their new friends for taking them in at a real time of need and making their stay such a wonderful experience...The Clarion treats their guests just like family and one cannot ask for more than that....thanks Clarion for "being there" !
