Our family with 2 little kids visited this motel in July 2008. We had the room #1, in front of the motel’s office where the landlord works as a receptionist. This old lady was very nice, but once we've got a problem in our room she became very brutal and rude…
We checked-in and paid for 5 nights. On the fourth day we understood that there were bed bugs in our room. We were bitten and started itching from the very first night but initially thought those were mosquito bites. We haven’t realized it faster since we never met bed bugs before, but after fourth nigh when we couldn't sleep because our body was bitten more and more we did some internet research (the motel has free internet access) and matched our multiple bites (see photos, we have much more) to pictures online. After that we found dead insects under our mattress (see photos). But the worst thing happened in the morning when we told the owner about the problem and that we wanted to leave. She just crushed them by her fingers and said: ”Those are not bedbugs. I know what are bedbugs and we never had them here. You were bitten by sand fleas or mosquitos”. Rows of bites mostly concentrated in batches and many of them in places not accessible to mosquitos suggested us the opposite. I was shocked!!! We wanted to leave immediately and receive our money back at least for the night we haven’t used. No way!!! This woman said that if she will lend our room to somebody today then she will send the money to us to Canada. Ridiculous! No worry about bed bugs for new visitors!!!
In addition I would like to say that one couldn’t swim on the beach near the motel, because there are so many algae on this side of the bay (see picture), so that you can’t even see the beach sand. The beaches on the other side, in about 3km from Truro and closer to Provincetown (Herringcove and Race Point Beach), nevertheless, are very nice but the parking there is $15/day. In Provincetown there is also one of the best whale watch tours in North America.
