I tried to stay at the Hawthorn Suites in May 2011. I booked my stay 2 months in advance, approximately two weeks prior to my stay I contacted the hotel to change my reservation from a Friday/Saturday stay to Saturday night only. Upon arriving at the hotel I was told that I did not have a reservation and that the hotel was booked. After further research the hotel clerk stated that my reservation was "cancelled" since I was a "no show" on the previous night. I explained that I had called two weeks prior to change my reservation. The clerk and the manager then stated that I called that afternoon to cancel my reservation (Not true). The lies and spinning of facts continued. The hotel did not offer me any assistance in trying to find a another hotel.
Ultimately, the people working at this hotel were extremely rude to me and would not admit to their mistake. When the manager came to the service, I thought "Oh, good someone is here to help me", I was so wrong. He smelled of alcohol and became irrational almost immediately. After realizing the hotel thought I was a "no show" for the previous night, I asked the manager if I had been charged for the stay, his response with a big smile, "Yes you were, and I do not plan to refund it! You can take that up with you credit card company". He then proceeded to kick me out of the hotel! Yelling in front of my children that I need to leave, or he will call the police. Completely irrational...
