We stayed at Cape Cod Holiday Estates, just two of us, Sept. 2-9 2006. (We rented as a timeshare exchange.) They are roomy single story villas set well apart from each other. Our 2 bdrm, 2 bath unit had one large master suite w/ queen, tv, jacuzzi tub, separate shower. A second decent size bedroom w/ 2 twins was next to a bathroom w/ shower only. A large livingroom with a sofa/loveseat ,chair, desk and a lot of open space overlooked a front deck and entry area. There was a smaller "family room" with an entertainment unit /TV and a sleeper sofa overlooking a smaller back deck with bbq, table and chairs. The full kitchen was nice size (though only the most basic cooking items were included) and had a large table for six. Surrounded by trees the unit was very relaxing and quiet.
The beach is down the main road about 3 miles. We didn't spend time at the pool (indoors) but it was clean and average hotel-size. The staff was helpful. (Though we didn't know they don't schedule any cleaning unless you stay for more than 1 week, not the norm for timeshares.) The resort shows its age but it's kept up as well as most. It isn't fancy, not many amenities, but was clean, private and comfortable.
This resort was chosen due to its proximity to Plymouth, Uppper and Mid Cape sites, and near-by beach. It suited those needs just fine and would be great for those that like to "relax" on vacation. Shopping and dining are a short drive away and the resort sits just south of the massive New Seabury Resort.
For us, from California, being our first trip to the Cape wishfully thinking we could see and do it all in 7 days from this location, proved too challenging. It's a long day's drive to Provincetown after visiting Chatham and several (wonderful) lighthouse stops that unfortunately there was not adequate time to enjoy more of the National Seashore. A day trip to Nantucket was not nearly enough time, even by fast ferry, and ....well, you get the picture. We will definitely come back to the Cape, break up our lodging rather than rent in one location, and limit our to-do list!.
