“Lovely B & B”

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pheasant Hill, located on a picturesque wooded road close to the ocean. We slept with our windows open a crack and could hear the surf breaking on shore. The house was spotless and welcoming, including many of the amenities that you would find at a five star hotel. Nancy, the owner and gracious host, prepared a wonderful breakfast which included her delicious homemade blueberry muffins. We highly recommend the Pheasant Hill Inn.

Located in a beautiful home in a simply gorgeous place, we were made very welcome Nancy & Bill. Plenty of space, yummy breakfasts, great wifi and excellent service. Thank goodness we were unable to book accommodation in Salem & discovered this gem instead. We will be recommending to all back in Australia.

Having stayed at numerous B&Bs during our travels, I am extremely pleased with out stay at the Pheasant Hill Inn. The location is convenient and pristine. The relaxing atmosphere was appreciated and savored after a week of travel. We were not disappointed with any of the suggestions given for travel or meals - best driving directions and maps provided! Our room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. Breakfast was much more impressive than any "Continental" ever indulged in....Sincerely recommend taking time out to stay here.. lovely, memorable. We will definitely share our experience with all our family and friends heading that way from 'down south'. (Love the pillow seat!)

Room Tip: Garden Suite

We spent 2 nights here with some friends and the owners Nancy and Bill make you feel very much at home.
Nancy gave wonderful suggestions on places to eat and even when we left she gave us great ideas for driving along the coast and once again another great suggestion for lunch. We have stayed at many B&B before, but never have enjoyed our stay like the one here at Pheasant Hill Inn, the rooms are very spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Nancy is a wonderful artist and has put her own lovely touch throught out the home, you would just have to see it to enjoy all of the hard work and thought that she and Bill have put into their wonderful home. I certainly would recommend it to anyone and would defiently stay here again if given the chance to visit this beautiful area again.

“Wonderful place, wish we'd stayed longer....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

We spent 2 nights here, and with hindsight, we could have stayed longer as the location is great for visiting lovely places like Rockport, Boston, Portsmouth, Gloucester and the scenic beaches of Route 101a, south of Portsmouth.

Breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit, juices, cereals, yogurts, bagels and cold accompaniments - one day we had smoked salmon, another day hard boiled cold eggs. Their licence limits them to serving no hot dishes for breakfast, but despite this, we certainly did not go without! We loved the breakfast in the airy, bright dining room of their home.

We had booked the Garden Suite, and loved it! A huge and very comfortable bed with quality soft linens decorated in a luxurious but not over the top style. A great shower room with lovelyfluffy towels.

The suite also came with a cosy, bright sitting room with fridge, CD player, desk, wifi and two comfortable armchairs; which lead out to a private deck overlooking their garden.

The surrounding area is tranquil as it in a residential area, but close enough to walk (20mins stroll) into Marblehead.

The owners are very welcoming and accomodating. There is a laptop in the main lounge area for guest use, which is a nice touch, and lots of magazine and tourist info on the local area.

They recommended two local restaurants - the Cafe Italia and The Landing, and we had good meals in both, with Cafe Italia being our favourite (and the owners favourite too).

We really could have happily stayed here for a week, using it as a base for the surrounding area - we do not hesitate in recommending it and would happily return again to this friendly and hospitable B&B.

Room Tip: The privacy and deck of the garden suite makes it the best for me!
