We spent 2 nights here, and with hindsight, we could have stayed longer as the location is great for visiting lovely places like Rockport, Boston, Portsmouth, Gloucester and the scenic beaches of Route 101a, south of Portsmouth.
Breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit, juices, cereals, yogurts, bagels and cold accompaniments - one day we had smoked salmon, another day hard boiled cold eggs. Their licence limits them to serving no hot dishes for breakfast, but despite this, we certainly did not go without! We loved the breakfast in the airy, bright dining room of their home.
We had booked the Garden Suite, and loved it! A huge and very comfortable bed with quality soft linens decorated in a luxurious but not over the top style. A great shower room with lovelyfluffy towels.
The suite also came with a cosy, bright sitting room with fridge, CD player, desk, wifi and two comfortable armchairs; which lead out to a private deck overlooking their garden.
The surrounding area is tranquil as it in a residential area, but close enough to walk (20mins stroll) into Marblehead.
The owners are very welcoming and accomodating. There is a laptop in the main lounge area for guest use, which is a nice touch, and lots of magazine and tourist info on the local area.
They recommended two local restaurants - the Cafe Italia and The Landing, and we had good meals in both, with Cafe Italia being our favourite (and the owners favourite too).
We really could have happily stayed here for a week, using it as a base for the surrounding area - we do not hesitate in recommending it and would happily return again to this friendly and hospitable B&B.
Room Tip: The privacy and deck of the garden suite makes it the best for me!
