One of the most heartwarming and comfortable stays we ever had. Ellen and David were incredibly pleasant, accommodating, and caring. The weekend both at the inn and in experiencing the town was magical from the countryside to the locals, and of course our hostess and host are alone worth the drive to Lenox. Thank you so much for making it memorable. Absolutely and highly recommended.

Just got back from a two-night stay at this charming bed and breakfast in Lenox, MA with another couple and had a wonderful time. Beautiful rooms, great breakfasts and tea time snacks, friendly and welcoming hosts (and doggies) combined to provide us with a relaxed and fun time. Very highly recommended.

We loved our stay at the Birchwood! Our suite was grand yet comfortable with a charming old fashion fireplace. Food was exemplary, both at breakfast and afternoon tea. Ellen is a great chef and has created some unique breakfasts including a delicious Parmesan shell filled with herbed eggs. We were especially impressed with the common areas that are filled with beautiful antiques and furnishings. We had a very comfortable nights sleep and found the location very convenient. We especially enjoyed the fine dining that is close by and the park that is just across the street for hiking and exploring.

After having spent the first part of our vacation at a large inn in Stockbridge, we realized the true benefit of staying at a bed and breakfast over a larger hotel. In this case, the beds were so much more comfortable, the personalized attention to detail appreciated and the delicious breakfasts and tea that were included in our room rates really made a happy ending to our Berkshire getaway!

If you are looking for perfection personified - look no further. You will want to move in and never leave. The house is magnificent furnished with beautiful antiques. The staff is incredibly helpful, warm, friendly and efficient. Ellen (the owner) is a superb master chef who works with her staff to prepare fantastic gourmet breakfasts each morning. David (the innkeeper) is a real renaissance man, from making dinner reservations to helping you dig your car out of the snow. Rebecca is Ellen's "wing man" and makes sure you are comfortable and relaxed. Piper & Quinn are the permanent canine residents - who are the sweetest creatures you will ever encounter. The Inn is conveniently located to a host of attractions, places and activities, i.e.Tanglewood, musuems, shops, restaurants, parks and wild life preserves. Whether you want to sit back in a cozy chair in front of the fireplace or do some hiking or skiing - this is the place to do it all. It doesn't get any better than this!
