First of all, I booked my reservation to stay in this hellhole through Expedia, who charged my credit card TWICE for the same room. After getting that worked out, we finally arrived at this place at around midnight after driving for 12 hours with my 9- month old son. Needless to say, we were all exhausted and needed sleep. There were NO SIGNS OF LIFE at the hotel, whatsoever. There was a doorbell at the front office with a sign saying to ring it for assistance. After almost breaking the thing by ringing it over and over again, I went back to the car where my wife tried calling the number to the hotel. No answer. Finally, she got online with their headquarters who obviously couldn't give a damn about our dilemma. At this point, we were all beside ourselves with frustration and we decided to go next door to the Howard Johnson for the night and resolve the issue in the morning. After telling the man at the front desk our tale of woe, he simply picked up his cell phone and called the people at the Knights Inn. He spoke in an Indian dialect that sounded like Hindi and told me that they would be available if we went back over. I could not believe it!!! They didn't even answer their own business line but they were readily available for their friend (or relative) over at the Howard Johnson. So upon entering our room, we were greeted with an offensive odor reminiscent of urine and mold. There were strange yellow spots in the bathroom that looked like some kind of dried wood glue with hair stuck to them. The beds smelled musty and our mini fridge was broken. Being that this was our only option for the night, we sucked it up and went to sleep. The next morning we were faced with a continental breakfast that literally consisted of Fruit Loops and RANCID ORANGE JUICE!!! The OJ was actually fizzy and fermented and SPOILED. When we brought it to the attention of the employee, she said "Oh, none of the customers told me it was bad. How was I supposed to know?!" This incident was the LAST STRAW. We immediately packed our bags and went across the street to the Yankee Inn, where we had a great stay. Eventually, after many hours spent on the phone with the difficult managers and employees from this motel, we were finally refunded the full amount of $147.92. Whatever you do, DO NOT STAY HERE!!! It is like staying in a Third World Country. The management sucks and the rooms are disgusting.
