“Dirty, Dingy, Run-Down Hotel with minimal amenities!”

In short, this hotel was filthy. I checked in without any hassles and went up to my room to settle in and take a shower. Upon pulling back the shower curtain however, I found clumps of hair in several spots in the shower as well as excessive mildew on the back of the shower curtain (sorry, I did not think to take a photo at the time because of my complete shock). When I mentioned it to the front desk, the staff member just said the curtains were supposed to be changed every day (I DOUBT this) but made no effort to compensate me for this situation. I was completely grossed out. Also, this hotel only has wireless in the lobby but not in any of the guest rooms. I left for the night and came back around 1:30 AM to be greeted by a Police Officer who was standing guard at the front door. I don't know if this was supposed to reassure me, but it only made me concerned why he would need to be there in the first place. I had also read previous reviews about car windows being smashed in the parking lot so I guess they have had trouble with safety in the past. The only redeeming thing about this stay was the mediocre but complementary breakfast in the morning.

I really appreciate your taking the time to share your disappointment with your stay. I want to apologize that the hotel was not as clean as our standards demand. A clean room that has been prepared for our guests is a basic for a good stay. I am sorry this was not your experience. You can be confident that I will follow up on your concerns and that I will share your comments with the staff. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

“Why no in-room wi-fi?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

Good hotel, just off the Interstate. Complimentary breakfast was good, room was very big. Also, it was insulated really well so I slept perfectly.

But why-o-why, in this day and age, do they only have wi-fi internet available in the lobby area? Offer it in-room as well, and I will award five "stars" instead of four....

Only had one night there but it was a great experience, very clean, great customer service and a complimentary breakfast fit for a king. Would definitely stay there again.

“My Week in Andover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

The hotel was fine and I had no issues with it at all other than the ice machine on my floor being broken for my entire stay. The staff was very pleasant, offered restaurant suggestions for dinner, and gave me a multi-page list of restaurants, including directions. Since this is not a full-service hotel, unless I wanted to eat at Friendly's a few steps away, I had to drive to wherever I wanted to eat and the choices within a few miles away were perfect for me. My only complaint (and it's not a big one) is that the bathroom lighting over the sink could have been brighter.
If you're a business traveller, any hotel for more than a few days gets to be boring - you just have to get used to that fact.

Greetings Valued Guest,

Thank you for your reply on Trip Advisor. We are pleased that you decided to review our hotel on your pleasant stay. We value all guest input in anyway to improve our hotel for the guests expierience. We take great pride in our hotel and our costumer service. I am gald you received wonderful service from our staff and they were courteous in helpong find dining options in the area. I see that there was an issue with the Ice Machine on your floor and Bathroom lighting. We have recently started to use a bighter & more energy effiecent light in the guest bathrooms that have replaced the old standard bulbs. The Ice Machines are all fixed and do have our Maintance Staff inspect them weekly to be free of any issues. With these changes we have seen Brighter Bathrooms and issue free Ice Machines. We hope to have the chance to host you again soon to see these improvements. Thank you again for your review.

“Great value but older hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

Got a great hotel rate at the last minute. Received good service from the front desk attendant who was friendly, attentive and quick. I very much appreciated this after a very long day and arriving at an hour I was expecting to have to wait till someone came back to the front desk area.

Hotel room was older with an old school TV and an older bed/pillows. The bed was still fairly comfortable but it didn't feel like one of the newer ones you normally get at a HIE. Considering I paid less than $100/night with tax It was a good value and I would stay here again based on it. About a 40 minute drive from Logan without any traffic so I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you are planning on visiting Boston itself as the primary purpose. With traffic it could have been over an hour.

Room was big and clean and the entire hotel seemed clean (I actually was only in the room for about 8 hrs. Room was quiet, I couldn't hear anyone else

Hotel was right off 495 and not far from 93 and well lit free parking was available

I gave the stay a 3 but in fairness if there was a 3.5 rating that is what I would have given it because the room was so affordable. and the staff was great to deal with.
